S10 diff. Same as Camaro?

S10 diff. Same as Camaro?

So I'm bout to put a 9" in the camaro, and have been tossing the idea around of putting the posi differential out of the Camaro into my S10. Both are 7.5" 10 bolts. Anyone know if this would work or not? ABS isn't really a concern if its different, I was just wondering about the diff itself. Thought it'd be cool to get a posi for the truck for free, lol.

Well...I'm not sure if the length is different.... but the mounting points will obviously be wrong since the truck has leaf springs.

If you want the posi unit, just remove it from your Camaros rear and put it in the S10..

Sweet. Thats what I was wanting to do. So the differential out of the camaro will fit the S10? Anyone know if the axles are the same spline?

The axles should be the same spline...but then it goes back to the length question. Would they be the same length as the S10 ones?

Also, sorry, when I read your first post I was thinking you meant whole axle...not just the differential.

if its just the posi unit, then swap away. make sure it's either a 26 or 28 spline though.

i have a torsen unit from a camaro in my 94. goes right in. that is actuatly a real popular swap in the s10 world

they were both 28 spline. Went from 3.08 to 3.73 due to lift kit and bigger tires.
