Well, if its taken all of that abuse, its probably a keeper.
If your really unlucky it could take out your driveshaft and transmission trying to kill your diff.

I'm a parent and if my kid was trying to destroy his rear in his car I would probably put my foot up his.

Yeah, everyone knows the 10 bolt is a piece of glass - behind an LT1/LS1. Put it behind most V6s and it becomes fairly reliable. If a guy can be mature about it and not beat the hell out of their car, they can keep a 10 bolt intact until they can afford to replace it with something stouter. In turn, that old 10 bolt that might already have 3.73/4.10 gears in it would be a really nice cheap upgrade for someone with a V6 and a one-legger differential.

If it were me, I would be at the track trying to get some good times. Lauch at around 4500 rpm on some slicks. If it doesn't break then you can check out the sweet ET you will have .

hopefully you had a friend waiting to pick you up, because if my mom or dad had to come pick me up at 4 in the morning from some empty parking lot because i had a blown rear and was surrounded by tire marks i sure as hell wouldn't be getting any money towards parts.
hahahahahhaa! good point. i'd be like wtf??

Fine, because whatever his name is, is being an asshat, I'll wait a month to save up the 2600 and then blow my rear to hell, with my own money, and yeah I have people that can pick me up, but instead, I'll have them record me with slicks at the track.

Plus my tranny slips out of third, think I'll get it rebuilt as well.

Oh, and I told my parents my rear was going in about a week, and they said that it was fine. So... does it matter whether it's natural or not?

And my rear's resale value was worthless since I bought that car. It rattles and whines so bad I'd need to pay someone to take it.

hahah. don't worry abt what other ppl think. if you're paying for it anyway just kill it. better than having it die on your way somewhere important.

hey man, if you have the means to get a new rear when yours breaks, why not. i have to preserve mine until i can save the money though... kinda sucks that that's keeping me away from running DR's and going to the track.

As soon as that was understood, I power shifted, drifted, did whatever I could in a deserted parking lot at 4 in the morning to blown the bastard up. (And yes, I did check around, no one was there, it was a completely empty parking lot, not pot holes, no lights, completely safe.)

I must be doing something right because it still won't break. Rattles, jingles and clanks really loud, though.

Any ideas? Maybe if I actually service it, it will break.
do a decent bunout get the tires hot, stop completly, put it in 2nd gear and bounce the motor off the rev limiter for a sec then side step the clutch worked for me only i didn't break it on purpose tho. i was showin off for some friends.
