Default lockers and pulling

to the ones daily driving with lockers. I wanted to see if it was normal for the car to pull left or right for a second when you give it some gas in a straight line?

Ah yes, the locker "sidestep". Totally normal, both cars I've got lockers in do that from time to time when you unload/load the diff (like in between shifts in a manual car). Lockers are definitely not for the faint of heart.

yea its normal. i remember it messed with me at first. my first highway cruise i felt it and took the car home and double cheked that i had tightened everthing. some lockers are noisier than others. mine makes hellacious clunking and banging around turns. and some times the locker engages so friggin loud it sounds and feels like something broke. its strong as hell and has givin me no issues but if i had to do it again i'd go with a spool

Yeah, feels like the car is doing a two step when you get on/off the gas.

Completely normal. I love mine. 5k clutch dump all the time on drag radials and don't even have to worry about the rear end lol

does putting in thick gear oil help the noise and clunking?

Thicker gear oil can help with noise. I'm not sure if the clunking would be any less, but I would tend to think that it would help.

With the higher horsepower cars it is a tough decision as to whether a locker or a spool is the way to go. There just aren't any other alternatives that will handle the power. Personally I would go with a spool, even for a daily driver, but my driving is all rural and highway. Bob
