Any guess is a shot in the dark, this car just came out and hasn't even made it a full model year yet. It's hard to say what changed we'll see with the current car let alone a complete new generation. Cars in this segment tend to run longer then others on the same plat form. A good example of that would be the Mustang, compare it to say a Camry or some other bread and butter product.

Insiders on other sites have said that this car will be around til about 2015, and that the 6th gen has already been green lighted and is in development.

^^^^If so.... I'm sure the 6th sixth gen will no doubt be a smaller, lighter, more fuel efficient and hopefully more modern looking car.

Well it will be on GM's Alpha chasis, which is smaller than Zeta.

Using previous generations is not sane reasoning. Just because they did it in the past does not make it a good idea. Times are different now.

Problem is the CAFE is going to rise. GM needs a lighter platform.
They can drop displacement, cylinders, add Turbos ect and get better mileage and maintain performance.

Plus I do think they made a big mistake--the visibility is awful. A big turn off to most women. I bet that will be fixed in a 6th gen.

I'd say 2016

I agree with you to a point but most women don't give two ***** about the function of something. They just want to look good. Why else do they wear high heels, $800 purses you couldn't hide a peanut in, etc.

Some luck lies in not getting what you thought you wanted but getting what you have, which once you have it you may be smart enough to see is what you would have wanted had you known.

I am going to wager and say that Camaro isn't a big hit on GM's cafe looking at the number produced compared to total vehicle production.

Hopefully they won't. They need a new modern design... not another retro redo. Hopefully.... they will pick up the design where the 4th gens left off or move on to something that looks more like an exotic.

If we do get a 6th gen, I think we'll see it around 2017-2018 for the 2018/2019 model year. There's no way they can go that long without a new model. They'll do a refresh/facelift with minor changes maybe, then a few years after that sales will start to drop, and they'll have to come out with the next gen. Once Ford comes out with their 5.0 Coyote and 6-speed Mustang GT, it's going to be one hell of a close pony car race. Give or take a year or two, 2014 is going to bring about a whole new Mustang, faster, better handling with an improved interior, just better all-around.

The 2010 Camaro SS had an edge on the 2005 Mustang GT, but with the 2010 Mustang GT with the Track Pack, the main edge the Camaro SS has is with ride/handling over uneven surfaces.

A couple insiders on other mesage boards are saying the 6th is due out sometime around 2015. Its going to share the Alpha platform with the Cadillac ATS and once that is done they are starting the 6th gen Camaro.

I don't think you'll see a 6th gen until like 2018 at least and that's considering the Chevy & GM gets turned around. 2014 or 2015 will be a rear fascia & front fascia update like the 2010 Mustang got. I also think that the next Mustang will just be an updated version on the same body. I don't think Ford can out do the design of the 05-present Mustang. The design of both cars are going to be tough acts to follow. I do think that Bumblebee from the 1st Transformers movie has made the Camaro a household name like the Stang. 50k plus unit's already sold compared to the Mustang's 32k and much less than that for the Challenger. The Camaro's 2010 model year runs at least until April if not Sept next year so I bet on 75k units at least when it's said and done for the 2010 model year.
