I'm sure the camaro's are as well. These "tests" are so lame. Tune both cars engines on a dyno to their potential with completely stock setups along with the best suspension components money can buy on the aftermarket and retest. Then, and ONLY then will it be a true test of car vs car. Then again, it's not fair because mustangs have had five years of major aftermarket support with suspension components. We may never see a fair comparison...
How is the track pack the most mild setup? Isn't it noticeably more aggressive than the standard GT? Or are you comparing it to aftermarket?

From the rumors the mustang will weigh over 50lbs more with 25 less hp than the Camaro. Its not much of an advantage but I think it will be enough.

hmmm, interesting to hear that the mustang will weigh that much. I had heard that the car is basically the same and just has the new motor in it. I guess we will have to wait and see.

They cant weigh the same do to the safety requirements for 2012. I mean they could leave the 2011 the same and put the new motor in it. That would make the 2011 quicker than the 2012.

imo, the number one flaw of the mustang is the gear ratio.. take that 2010 mustang, run mid 13s, and then put a set of 4.10 or even better, 4.30 gears and run mid low 12s. people do it all day long with gear\exhaust tune. hell theres a guy around here with a mach 1 (02 i think) running high 11s with 4.30 gear, tune, and slicks.. runs in the 10s on a 100 shot.. and the motor/cam/etc is BONE STOCK!!! crazy! i will have a 93 coupe black on black with a cammed ls1 one of these days, its the perfect combo of sexy looks and performance.

The mustang is already geared more aggressively than the camaro. IMO there is more room for improvement on the Camaro (3rd gear doesn't run out until 114 mph!). Or another way to look at it, put the same overall gear in the mustang that the camaro has, and you would be hard pressed to run a 13 second 1/4. And no way a gear swap is worth more than a second on the mustang, especially considering the factory gearing.

You really think that going to a 4.30 gear ratio is going to cut a second and a half in a 1/4 mile time? .......ummmmm WOW
