I bet $49K, that's based on absolutely no data other than that the package might stip a 2SS and some other options, and the LSA engine will add $10K at a minimum to the price.

I can't see paying more than 40k for a Z28. In 2 years, I bet the prices of 07 Z06's will be in the low-mid 30's. Screw the new Z28, I'm puttin my money (if I have it at the time) in a used C6Z

The MSRP was probably around 39k though, so if the MSRP on the Z28 is 48k the dealerships will probably try to get 55k+ for them.

Dealer markup is a bitch.

Blah....vette. There's one on every corner and I'm tired of seeing them. Much rather hava a Z28. Although I've heard the LSA motor doesn't have forged internals which would bother me. If there's any hint that the internals won't hold up to mods you can count me out.

I wouldn't pay over 50k for one though and if I have to wait out the dealer mark-up for a year I have no problem doing that.

Considering that the goal for the Camaro is to sell 100k of them a year you better not get tired of seeing them too.

I guess we'll see. But Vettes have always outnumbered TA's and Camaro's. I've just never been a Corvette guy, their a decent looking car but I would never buy one. Unless I could afford a ZR1 that is. And I doubt the streets are going to be flooded with Z28's. Probably see one as often as I see a GT500.

New SS' Camaros are 33-36K, so a Z/28 will be 10K more sticker (or lower, and there will a veritable stampede of guys showing up at the dealers to order one..)

Not really. Corvette sales have usually hovered around 30k a year or so. There are FAR more Firebird and Camaros cars out there than Corvette.

Just the total from 01 and 02

01 Corvette: 35,627
01 Camaro: 29,009
01 Firebird: 21,436

02 Corvette: 35,767
02 Camaro: 42,098.
02 Firebird: 30,690

ok that's what I get for typing without thinking. Although I'm guessing half of those are V6's.

I guess I'm looking at this from an enthusiasts perspective. For example, I was recently at a car show with ~800 cars. Me and my buddy couldn't believe the amount of Corvettes driving into the show so we started counting them. We stopped at around 100, and this was excluding older ones. It was crazy how many were there. Even Z06's which for awhile you never saw are everywhere.

Its a car show!!! There are going to be Corvettes show up. The majority of the owners buy one for JUST that purpose. For me, Id be thankful for every single one of them to show up and especially the 80s Corvettes. They are a HUGE PITA to keep in running order because a lot of the electrical stuff is not produced anymore.

I do see what you are saying though. How many GT500s and C6 Z06s do you see on a regular basis? Not many. Same will happen with the Z28 if it ever comes out.

Uhhh... Did you just read that somewhere? Last I checked, it will have either an LS3, LSA, LS9 or LS7. Odds seem to be on LSA, but no definites yet.

well if you consider that when GM supercharged the Z06, it took the price up 40k from the regular Z06. Im betting the Z28 will be 65-80k

Gm usually saves the best for last! Remeber, the SS was the best in previous models and they were always the last to come out.

I cant wait to see the Z!

LOL what? While expecting one to be under $40k is foolish, you'd have to be borderline retarded to think GM is going to sell the Z28 for 65-80k. A CTS-V is less than that. And you can't go on the price difference between the Z06 and ZR1, they did more than just drop a supercharged motor in a Z06. Besides, if you DO want to make that comparison, use proper math and look at what percentage of a price increase you're dealing with. Using roughly the same percentage increase in price you'd be near $50k for a Z28 which would make sense.
