Default Cat Back only Suggestions

Last year my dad bought a 2010 2SS RS automatic, Anyways he isn't up to date on the whole forum/internet stuff so I am trying to help him out. He wants to keep his car stock with the exception of a Catback exhaust to get more growl out of his car. If someone is doing JUST catback what are some good options, He wants a nice growl/Muscle car tone that will not have much drone on the inside. I know there are tons of audio and video clips but its hard to justify unless in person. If anyone has a cat back only and can share their thoughts I know my dad will appreciate it.

If I was going catback and catback only I bite the bullet and shell out 1200 for the corsa. Otherwise look up click on tsp and Check out the killer deal tsp has from headers to tips. That's what i'm doing personally.

+1 for corsa catback. Best sounding 5th gen exhaust I've heard.

Borla and magnaflow sound awful on the fifth gen's IMO.

I agree they do sound kind or meh in catback or axleback form but with the addition if headers that meh turns to music.

Sorry for the highjack op

Just add please do not repeat do not get flomaster unless you want sound like every other bubble, box, donk, crown vic, and cutlass. Everytime I hear that sound I think about lift kits and 26 inch wheels. I used to think it sounded good now it makes me wanna puke

Holy Crap! 1200.00 Damn thats expensive for a catback, but I will let the old man know....Idk about the tsp deal, for some reason he is really set on keeping his car stock except he wants the muscle car sound.

What about the SLP loudmouth or loudmouth II? any info on them?

Solo has the best sounding catback for the new Camaro for about $300 less than Corsa. Many guys have that system on their G8 and there's no drone and it sounds great. They also have axlebacks for around $500 if he's just looking for sound.

SOLO is another great sounding one, and wouldnt be bad for a catback only car. I hear it gets some drone with headers, cutouts, ect. tho.

Most 5th gen catbacks are over a grand, kind of rediculous.

Corsa and MBRP are the best cat-backs for auto cars with AFM. Anything else causes a good amount of drone from what I have heard.

Solo doesn't drone because they have J pipes on the tail pipes, which act as a Helmholz Chamber to cancel out deep resonating sound waves. Here's a picture of the G8 J pipe axleback next to the stock axleback muffler and some info of how it works to eliminate drone.

my favorite is the muffler delete, because it is inexpensive.

I sell the Corsa for $1129. Or the MagnaFlow axle back for $679, or the Magnaflow muffler delete for $459.

All of our exhaust options are HERE
