Default LNC 2-step wiring to clutch on MT 5th Gen Camaro (2010-2013), 2008-13 Corvette etc

I posted this on another forum but I thought it was important enough to post to this forum as well.

DO NOT CUT the clutch position sensor wires on a 2010-2013 Camaro.

The diagram in our instructions that mentions cutting the wires is for a 1997-2002 Camaro or Firebird clutch pedal switch (the starter safety switch) and other vehicles that use that type of clutch pedal/starter safety switch. On those vehicles you have to do that so that you can change the momentary output on key-up of that circuit to a continuous output needed for the 2-step (while still providing the momentary output needed for the OEM starter safety interlock).

The 2010-2013 Camaro, 2008-2013 Corvette and many other newer GM vehicles do not have a clutch pedal position switch. Instead they have a clutch pedal position sensor that is a 0-5 volt output type sensor (much like a throttle position sensor).

To use the clutch pedal position sensor data to enable/disable our 2-step (or nitrous or anything else), what we used to do was install a device that took the voltage value and turned it into a switched (ON/OFF) type output. The company we used to get those from doesn't make them anymore so we are in the process of making our own but we are a few months away from having those devices ready for sale to the public.

The other solution is to mount a switch to the clutch pedal mechanism, similar to a WOT switch that would be used on a mechanical throttle for a nitrous system.

Use a micro-switch like this one (NOS, Nitrous Express, DEI, most electronics supply companies etc. sell them):

And then mount it something like this (but on the clutch instead of the gas pedal):

Or this:

I will see if we can make a wiring diagram for this while we finish up development on our clutch position sensor switch output module.
