Has anybody got in ideas for safe weight reduction on a 2011 SS L99? I hear the stock rims are heavy, but wondering if there are any chassis mods that can or have been done?

You can pull the seats, carpet, speakers headliner and things like that but basically ruin the car. I'd rather add power than subtract weight.

There's more then is listed there, but... it covers a lot of it.
Tubular front/rear supports...
Lightweight exhaust (thin wall steel) with bullets/dumps at axle
Light wheels/tires
No airbags
Trimmed metal and removed most sound deadening behind dash
Kirkeys
Trimmed front frame rails
Removed battery post bracket and fuse box bracket (fuse box to passenger cowl area)
braille battery
bmr drag brake kit
no front swaybar
no oil cooler
removed evap charcoal box + evap line
no heat shields
no parking brake
glass hood
cowl steel removed/trimmed to windshield, except for a/c area on passenger side (the black box) including wipers/motor/all that crap
engine harness trimmed to necessary components
removed all foam blocks behind interior panels
lightweight aluminum tube CAI with plastic CAI box
aluminum lug nuts
1pc DS
rear seat back
all factory belts removed (harnesses in front)
airbag modules
I'm sure there's more, I just cant think of it all.
Still to do:
Remove entire interior harness and trim all airbag and nonessential crap out of it
Speedglass windshield/rear window
Lithium Battery ($$$/lb)
Tubular cradles F/R (big)
Minitub rear tire area+ remove battery well and relocate battery to passenger side (est. 45 lbs savings)
Remove front frame rails forward of shock towers and tie rollbar into frame through firewall, and make a tubular radiator brace across the assy (another 25+ pounds est)
Front coil-overs (strange DAs are cheap)
Some sort of smaller brake kit in the front, since the stock brakes are overkill large and ridiculously heavy.
Remove ABS module+line (12 lbs)
Remove all sound deadening behind dash and carpet (time/lazy)
There's more then is listed there, but... it covers a lot of it.

I've done 18's front and back, longtubes, cats, stock mid pipe, Moroso Spiral flow mufflers, stall, !engine cover, and I take the stuff out of the trunk for racing. I also have a battery to install that's 15 lbs. I should be 3900 next time out.

I'd image you could save weight on the factory wheels too. My car came with a set of TSW's on it & supposedly they are a bit lighter than the factory wheels. I'd definitely remove the engine cover, get a light weight (carbon fiber?) cold air indcution. I have CAI Inc. cold air intake aand I swear the thing is as light weight as can be. You may want to see if there's any lighter weight hoods you could install, something that enhances the appearance & reduces weight at the same time. You could probably do the same with the rear spoiler or just do a rear spoiler delete. As others have have said headers & exhaust system will probably help save some. Wish you luck into getting the car where you want it to be.
