Default prototype whipple 2.9 dyno

"Another Lethal Performance Exclusive!!

Here's a short video clip of the 2.9L prototype being tested on an SS out at Whipple's facility in Fresno, CA.

Here's how the car did.
Keep in mind this is a prototype kit where the system is a few percent less efficient than production systems because its a rear entry with a restricted inlet. Expect higher numbers from the production front entry less restrictive intake system

The car made 519rwhp, 91 octane, 8.25psi, stock exhaust, stock filter box, stock everything but the 2.9L Supercharger. 500lbs of torque, I'll have a dyno sheet tomorrow. This was on the 13th run and the car was hot. Whipple will do cool run tomorrow. Af is 11.9:1. "

i personally cant wait for this kit to be in production, cuz soon after the f-body ls1 tuner kit will be coming. if it dynos similar to this i'll be happy. but none the less, great numbers for a prototype unit.

Here's a photo of the 2.9L prototype installed followed by an image of the massive heat exchanger that they'll be using.

talking to Dustin and reading his posts he regrets big time in not jumping on the ls1 market. but atleast we have something to look forward to. i seriously cant wait for the ls1 tuner kit. 402 stroker w/ this blower on top = dreams do come true eventually dont they ??

Looks great! Needs a 10 rib, a built shorty, a big CAI kit, 25psi, and some race gas.
Whipple makes a badass blower.

no doubt.

but from a business standpoint, this makes alot of sense and it being run right off the oe crank pulley with oe accesories without having to upgrade any other pullies to make run, will make it for best seller. since it looks to be pretty much direct bolt on. its gonna be a viable option for the average street guy. and will no doubt give the usual h/c packages a run for their money.

will there be any other pulley spacing offset options? or 10 rib upgrade for the tuner kits?
what is included in the tuner kits?

reason why theyre going front entry is hood clearance, and theyre stating it will yield more power as it will have less restrictions in the intake.

f-body tuner kit, i believe it comes w/ intake, s/c, heat exchanger and pumps. it doesnt come w/ injectors, fuel rails, and fuel pump.

now keep in mind this tunner kit will still require some cutting of the cowl probably a lil more then the current maggie available.

10 rib they stated they will offer a 10 rip setup.

heres the dyno graph, 538whp and 515wtq 8 psi, note stock numbers. looks like 315ish whp and 337ish wtq. so that makes the gains even more impressive. and look at that curve.
