ZL1 at the drag strip
Took my ZL1 out to the strip for the first time, best for the night was a 12.63 @ 113. Couldn't hook well off the line at all, 2.0 60's all night. Didn't air down the tires much so I'll try that next time out. Not the fastest, but was still lots of fun being 100% stock and my daily driver!
Here's a vid of the run. Still learning how to work the gopro, so the sound could be better...but enjoy!

I'm happy to see someone else running their Z. As long as you had a great time, there's nothing to complain about. More seat time and you'll be running quicker ets.

this is where it starts.. first time at track with new car... lol
yeah, huge gains to be had for a bigger pump. Typical GM. if there were an SRT engineered car it would have the biggest and the best of all things. Love my GM's but that SRT crew does a real nice job (stock vs stock).
Second thought? how smart is GM... detune like crazy, leave the potential "there" force us to mod our cars, voiding the warranty, gets them off the hook early lol

Wheels/tires will be the next change for sure. No use in adding more power if you can't hook! I want to try to get back out one more time while it's still stock!!
As far as hx, I was looking at the cooler logic model. Seems to be a near stock replacement.

Thanks... that does look like a solid HX and should just bolt right up.

Ran a new PB last night... still couldn't hook at all, even with the tires aired down to 25psi. First run of the night I ran a 12.62 @ 112.7 with a 1.9 60' which is my new best(not by much). After that I had no traction AT ALL and had to abort almost every following pass.
FYI, the video makes my car sound really loud. I wish I could take the credit, but there was a drag car next to me making all the noise...

Coolio. I ran my 300 mile 14 ZL1 Friday and out the box it ran 12.50 @ 115. Only mods are Kooks longtubes and a CA kit. Can't wait to make that blower pulley a little smaller and get it tuned.

I have a best of 11.405@123.49 mph. Running DRs, headers, cai and ported throttle body. Just changed the upper supercharger pulley and injectors. Heading to the track tonight to tune it, I think its running rich, and see what it will do now.

Got it down to an 11.168@123.32 last Sun morning. Nittos are shot with over 200 passes on them, heading back to the track Thurs night to see what my new Mickey Thompsons will do, 10.999 I hope!

Took my 6 speed car with just shy of 2000 miles to Need2Speeds Dead Hookers rental last weekend and damn. 11.90s @ 122.90. Not bad for simple bolt ons and a really good 93 octane tune from Jack and Duva at HPLogic up the road from me.
It still won't 60 better than a 1.93 but hey, just under 123, I'll take it. I tell people like it is. A ZL1 does everything exceptionally well, except drag race.

Another video of the ZL1 trapping below advertised times. I don't understand it, are these cars overrated from the factory? They're only trapping a mph or two better than a stock SS. A car with that kind of power should be trapping 118mph +, even with it's weight.
