Yeah, looks much better without the slot on the front.

Now, if you just tapper it in, just a tad towards the front, essentially following the lines of the hood, you're in the money!
Ya i hear you. I noticed it after i was done. The final product will follow the hood lines. Anybody have any good L88 hood pics that i could use. Thanks

I definitely prefer it without the mailslot. I'm holding out for a 2012 anniversary edition Vert, but not wanting to wait I tried a photchop of the scoop on a Vert. See what ya think:

I like it, looks real aggressive. Do you think you could photoshop the same scoop except taper the lines in toward the middle a bit more. Just like the camaro hood in you sig. Thanks, Christian

Yeah, I actaully did taper it a little, just not as much as the 4th gen, I'll give it a shot. I actually made on e with a small scoop about the size of the 4th gen to try and fit racing stripes on the sides of the scoop, but the small scoop looked like ***. I'll try to tape more though.

Same here,I might still prefer the original GM design ith the mail slot. I Wonder what the aftermarket will come up with that looks good with the mail slot.

tinkered around some more trying to find a way to make stripes look good and came up with these...funny though I like it better with out the stripes:

Here it is with stripes:

And another just on the top of the bulges:

The stripes don't work for me, but the bulged hood looks good. Have you tried a "cowl induction" style hood?

The stocker is pretty much a cowl induction style, well from the front anyway. Honestly, I'm still quitetorn over them all, I think the car just looks so good on it's own just about any style of hood will actually look good on it. Right now though I'm kinda partial the the double bulge one, but the scoop the OP designed is pretty awesome (The tapered one was his idea, I just photochopped it for him).

BTW, here's a pic of the original GM hood

I'd like to see a hood that is 2-2.5 inches higher than stock.

I agree!

Nice job, especially using paint! I think that the two slots is a bit much, but without the slot, it'd be a Cool hood!
