Well the reason I said that is because gm needs massive reorganization. Just like you said- It's gotta start somewhere. This means that without massive reorganization on their part, I won't make a difference because they are going to stay in debt and continue going down.

True...but just curious, do you really think that they will still be in debt and, as you say, "continue going down" if you as well as HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF OTHERS suddenly started buying GM vehicles instead of Toyotas and Honda?
I mean, I think the answer is obvious but I'm simply curious if you truly believe that GM couldn't possibly be helped by the vast population buying their vehicles in the same numbers that they used to buy from competing import nameplate brands.
Hey guys let's go through some history here. Back in 2002 GM had announce the death of the Camaro becuase the numbers were low. Yet it was the number 2 in sales amount for a car of its class. Today 8 years later Pretty much the Future of Chevrolet and GM ride on the sales amount of the new Camaro and the Volt. What you guys think?? A little ironic huh..
Come on lets give these BIG GUYS at GM some food for tough!!!
Of course the camaro finished #2 in sales within it's class in 2002... Let's consider the other v8 powered pony cars within the segment (Mustang, Camaro, Firebird)
yea i know alot of people that will not buy american cars. ill ask them why and they all say there crappy and break down. they have no clue, thats when i say well i have a ls1 thats makes 550+RWHP gets 22+MPG and hasnt once given me a problem with the stock parts. they have no answer for that, they just blindly buy japanese because they "heard" american cars suck.when people start thinking for themselfs and actually checking out the product maybe things will change but that will take a while for amercian cars to shake there unreilable reputation.
I have the same problem with people that don't buy american cars because it is said they are crap. I've had 7 Chevys (five of them f bodies), a Dodge and a Subaru. The Subaru has been the least reliable. My father has had mostly american cars also with very few problems. One of my sisters has a Honda and the other an Acura, and they always have problems. A couple of friends have a Nissan and a Mitsubishi, they constantly have problems with them but continue to buy japanese because they are "the most reliable". What I'm getting at is they have seen how reliable our cars have been, but for some reason continue to buy the "more reliable japanese car". The only japanese car that I can say has been reliable is a Toyota Corolla one of my friends has. To top it off even the most simple parts for those cars are expensive. I think the main reason people don't buy american is because it seems that the only reliable cars in the 80s and 90s had eight cylinders and obviously very few people like daily driving V8s. It will take years for the new higher quality in american vehicles to show and get people interested in looking at an american car as one of their options instead of just blindly going for the japanese car. I'm not saying japanese cars are bad, but they are not the pinnacle of reliability they are often described as.
