Actually, any car will run stronger with colder ambient temperatures. Warmer weather will slow those times. The only issue with cold temps. is tires not gripping as well...especially if they are summer tires.

Which is more than likely the reason the OP said "wait till it gets warmer out" Anything under 40 degrees and any tire that is non-winter gets hard and won't hook as well.

LOL, the new Stang GT or an 05 Stang GT will rape this thing.

The new camaro weighs too much, has too little torque, and is geared too low to keep up with the Stang GT.

I like it for what it is...a base car.

I'll take temps in the 30s over the 80s anyday for performance. I bet it will run a little slower under summer heat given the same drivers. Tires can always be warmed...hard to cool mother nature. Still pretty damn good numbers for a V6. Aftermarket will be all over this thing with forced induction...and your insurance company never has to know

What does the GT run in the 1/4? Just for comparison.

~13.5 at ~105

almost as fast as a stock ls1 car. On average the trap speeds are about 2 mph slower than an ls1 from what ive noticed from board to board.

Warming stock radials? that doesnt do much...especially on an unprepped ice cold road.

A run on an average 70 degree day on a prepped track will see a significant improvement on these times. Not so much with trap speed. But I would guess high 13's will be possible.

Anyone notice the 113 mph trap speed for the SS? this car is neck and neck with an 03 cobra.

Yeah, stock radials are gonna suck anyway...especially 20 inchers. Who woulda thought you would be needing DRs on a V6 camaro? May as well put some skinnies on the front also and see deep thirteens with a few boltons.

Manual gt's might be in the 13s but I raced a automatic 08 mustang running mid 14s all day. So the v6 camaro can hang with some v8 mustangs.

I've seen several of the s197 stangs stuck in the low 14s high 13s (even in decent air, but likely shitty drivers...well one was an auto) so it would be possible for the v6 to hang or edge one out

Either way, the V6 is very close in comparison to the GT Mustangs and as evidenced by the Mustang boards, they are not very happy about that!!

Of course, we GM loyalists would be just as upset if the tables were turned!

Thats damn respectable for a V6 car! That is about on par with what my 96 Z28 was running bone stock. I'm definitely impressed

not too bad there. i wanna see what the ss will do after broken in. i could definately see it doing better than a 12.70 with lt headers, ory ,cai and a tune. wonder how they will run against a lt1 car with mild bolt ons.

Well if they could hook it would be 12.7s stock on the SS it just smoked the tires in the 33 degree weather. The 20" rims don't help it.

I have the older V6, and it is nothing to sneeze at. Now the 5th gen V6, it is just a BEAST!
