NOT a stripped 1SS...although those will be available...
Your $45K, plus 2SS/Rally Sport/Ground Effects/Sunroof (roughly $10K), WITH warranty. For less than $60K...WITH an LS7...
If you did your plan on an '02, what would it's value be vs. a GMMG ZL1, today?
Nice math...
1SS versions will run under $50K, for those on a budget, or wishing for a lower-contented version (racing, perhaps?)...
BTW, "hail" back here, means a call to your insurance man...

^^^^^Yep, I got that issue with a GM performance parts 427ci 2010 Camaro, putting down in the 550hp range I believe. It was red with a black hood and truck. It was killer.

Another standout feature of the hood is a clear polycarbonate "window" that provides a view of the top of the engine's intercooler, with embossed "LS9 Supercharged" lettering.

I give GM all the credit in the world for finally growing some huge ones and building this! First of all, GM seemed always reluctant to build something to compete with its flagship model the Corvette. Now they blow it out of the water with the ZL1! Like it or not, Chevy is proving that they want to attract every type of auto consumer out there, from the Volt, suv and truck lines through the Camaro options and all the way up to the ZR1 Vette.
Chevy rules!

You can't defy physics. The power to weight ratio advantage goes to the base C6 @ ~3,200 lbs compared to an SS weighs ~3850 lbs. The additional weight of a supercharger and the magnetic shocks is ~200 lbs. This puts the ZL1 in over 4,000 lbs which is 800 lbs heavier!

I share your enthusiasm for this new car. I owned Camaros (Z28's) for 30+ years. However, I disagree the ZL1 will blow a Corvette "out of the water" - not on the strip and certainly not on the road courses. Although the ZL1 will have a 115 hp advantage, I question if the ZL1's performance will exceed a base C6 -forget about the Z06/ZR1.
