you were given the perfect opportunity here and you botched it bigtime. why does the 2009 indy 500 pace car look like this?

the 2009 pace car should have looked exactly like the 1969 pace car, convertible and all. i just dont get it at all.. this is what it should have looked like.

 

its not a 2009 there 2010 camaro's

 

I'll bet GM didn't have alot of say in the design of the pace car. The Indianapolis motor speedway has a long history of doing things their own way. The logo on the door was revealed long before the car was chosen, so the car has to match the logo.

I'll bet GM threw up in it's mouth a little when the speedway said they wanted this as the '98 pace car...

 

Agreed! WTF were they thinking? All they had to do was give it enough of a throw back look and they blew it!

that camaro is ugly but the vette is horrible I know someone that has one and its just terrible I can't stand to look at it what a disgrace to the vette and to the camaro

 

Atleast the Camaro SS is this years Pace Car and it does not look that bad.

 

they have a history of making bad choices, jsut add this to the list...

 

its not that bad looking, that vette could be the worst, its kind of like the person you smile at and say hello and then just walk away from felling very very sorry for them.

Did they forget they had to make the Indy version look special and just stop at Autozone and threw some decals on it?

I guess now I know why GM is in the trouble that it is in...it can't even make a pace car right...

 

Pretty sure IMS does the badges for these cars, not GM. At this point, I think GM is just grateful that they still get to provide Pace Cars for these marquee races.

 

I have heard that GM already filed for bankruptcy last week from a GM employee. The future is uncertain

It's a tragedy that GM does not get to dress these cars up - look at the Sunoco Camaro concept that recently came out - that is gorgeous!

 

imo the yellow and purple vette dosent look all that bad.

as for the dumb responses, i never said it was a 2009 model car, and they do have a convertable camaro. why cant anything ever stay on topic?

They have one for sell over here in my town and it's been there for a long time. They had it at the front door forever and finally moved it to the back in the gravel! IMO where it belongs. I too agree they are hideous.

 

wtf Def. not to my liking, Have a poster of that same 69 pace car on my wall, looks much better imo. *shrug* oh well.
