New Camaro owners, how was your buying experience?
For those of you out there who have bought a new Camaro, how long did you search for till you found a dealer selling at MSRP or below? Are they offering any incentives to buy at the moment and how is the inventory right now? It's time for me to buy a new car but I don't want to get raped. Just trying to get an idea of what dealers are charging/what their attitude is in general towards new camaro buyers.

Paid $1500 over sticker in June. The dealer I have used for many years wanted 5k over. I have heard some dealers wanted even more than that. I was a bit unhappy about the over sticker, but I also understand the laws of supply and demand. I did get free oil changes for life though, and being Mobil 1, I will at least earn a bit of that back. The dealer treated me with respect, but I expected that after what we paid. Bottom line is, we got the car we wanted without delay, and love it.

I think anyone TODAY can buy any Camaro at MSRP. I don't think GM has put any rebates on the car yet. I don't agree that you need to go outside your local area to find a dealer willing to sell at MSRP.
In most cases this new Camaro isn't your first Chevrolet buy. So, you have had plenty of time to establish YOURSELF with your local dealers. Where do you get your service and parts?
If I made a call I could tell you supplier GMS and dealer invoice. I don't think there was much more than 2200.00 plus hold back on our car. A good rule is 20.00 added payment per 1,000. This is a hot car. So, please tell me why you shouldn't be paying sticker for the car?

So I went to the Chevy website to build my own IFO 2SS, and theres now some ugly wing on it. Cant find a delete wing option on the 2SS, so I tried the 1SS, same deal, no delete wing option. Its ugly, looks like something off the 09 Civic Si, and you'r stuck with it? I know you can take it off easy enough but then there are holes in the trunk to deal with. To pharmboy who just bought a 1SS, did it have the wing on the back? Or is this something they are shipping now?

Jenson, that wing on the website is awful. Mine doesn't have anything like that on it at all. I will try to get some pics of it if to you if you want so you can see what it looks like. I definitely wouldn't want that on my car either.

Also, I could tell you all those prices by making a call to my dealer as well, but there are dealers across the country selling these cars for MSRP plus market value mark up of about 3000 dollars. I don't know how things work in your area but the dealers here are can only order a certain number before they need prior authorization from gm to order more. I guess that is why I say you may have to look somewhere other than locally. That applies to this area anyway

I work in the service dept. of my local dealer. Every Camaro we've gotten in so far has either been sold to the public at M.S.R.P., or has been wholesaled to dealers in Texas for $5-6000 over. Those Texans just keep callin us! They say they are retailing them for $8-$12K over list. How weird is that?
