Default 2010 camaro test drive

Today I went down to the dealership to test drive an inferno orange 1 ss camaro. My first impression of it was that it is a big car with lots of blind spots and a weird clutch. Dont get me wrong, it is a nice looking and driving car, but in terms of speed, I believe my 2002 vert is faster. However the interior is much nicer on the 2010, especially with a nice sound system. Back seat wise, A person taller than 6' could not sit back there, trust me i tried. Also the dash is very plain and gives you the feel that there should be the word camaro written across the passenger side, because it looks boring with nothing there. Overall I think its a great car for 32000, but I would not trade in my 01 z06 for it.

I don't think this car was designed to go against a "2002 vert" your car.

You said you didn't fit in the back seat of the car very well. How do you fit in the back seat of your Z06?

You said you thought your 2002 would out run the 2010 SS1 you drove. So what you're saying is your Z06 runs 12:90 to 13:10 every run on all tracks? I can almost believe that, 385 hp right? About 400 to 500 less weight, right?

I've enjoyed every Z06 I've ever owned. I've enjoyed every Camaro, every trim level I've ever owned. You didn't like the new Camaro I've loved everything about ours.

thanks

from looking at his sig, i'm pretty sure he's talking about the 02 z28 convertable he has. how tall are you? i'm 6'2 and i've read in reviews that people over 6' do not fit comfortably in the car period. i really hope this isnt true because my wife and i are planning on getting one in the next 6 months once the buying craze dies down a little. we're stuck between the camaro and the g8 gt, and if the height thing is a concern, then the decision will be pretty much be made.

^^^ my buddy's 6'7 and he said he felt fine sitting in the new camaro. He said there is some blind spots, but overall he was surprised how well he fit.

Your 02 has mods though. Chances are the 10 is faster than yours was stock. Plus as you said, the refinement and comfort levels make up for alot.

I just test drove a '10 SS and I liked it alot. It had great power, and felt as fast as my 98 LS1 with LTH's and a tune. Bolt on a set of LTH's and get a tune and see a big HP increase.

The interior is nice. I am used to the gauges now and I think they serve their purpose. Could they be improved, YES, but that will probably change soon for following models.

Yeah comparing stock to stock would be a little better. It wouldn't surprise me if your modded 02 felt faster because, after all, you modded it

I rode in my buddies new Camaro yesterday and I hear ya about the blind spots. I can't believe how small the front and rear windshields are. Much easier to clean than my long TA windows though!

I sat in a V6 model stickered at 36K.
No test drives. No V8s on lot- must be ordered. Again,
with no test drives.

I am 6'3" and would not buy the car due to head room. My torso
makes up some of my length so I guess if all of your height is
in your legs you might be able to fit in one with the seat adjusted
accordingly but I had no head room.

I agree with the comment on the boring dash also.

I bought a 2010 ss last week. I will agree with headroom not being the greatest in this car, but Im 6'2" tall and I drive the car just fine. To the member who started this thread, was the car you drove a six speed or auto? I have messed around with a few modded ls1 cars on the street and my car hasnt had any trouble with them. Im not saying your car wont outrun a stock 2010 but mine feels very strong as a 6 speed car. It does have a few issues, blindspots, small back seat, but overall I like mine a lot.

Rode in one Yesterday. My exact thoughts as yours. It was an automatic & it felt good but not as fast as I thought
