for or against the new concept camaro poll?

I am a diehard Bird fan. I would not buy a Camaro because I am waiting for a Firebird. If there were no firebird I would consider it, but I would not buy new. I would buy new if it were a Firebird.

Read some of the 12 pages of this post, not all. I like the concept and would buy it so my WS6 can be saved for special events. But after seeing what GM did with the "return" of the GTO, I am not optimistic. Gm is just not brave enough to follow through and put out a real, new, Camaro and keep it in production long enough. Probably put 4 doors on it and quit production after a few years. Hope I'm wrong!

09 camaro is boss!
Look at the base camaro now,it it sweet!I would definitely say the ss option would be more than appearance and have more than minimal performance gain over the Z28 option.

Taking or using something from the past
change it around with today's standard is still a copy
Writing a paper based on what you read about ! Then change few words to make it look like your own up to date!
Sounds like coping , cheating , taking the easy way!
No respect for design engineer that has to do that!
. Is that what they teach now

I'd buy it. But I'll probably still be broke in 08-09. Look @ the 30K price tag of a G6 Convert. I think that GM is gonna have a hard time keeping any Camaro convertible under 30K IMO.

Just an observation; the engine bay looks more accessible and mod friendly.
And the engine isn't rammed back like the 4th gens. If the production model is simular it would provide ample room for mounting a positive displacement blower. Coincidence from design? Perhaps it's an allusion to the possibility GM may have intentionally implemented it into their design scheme, in order to have an available option to compete with the blown stangs. IMO it's concievable considering the vette's getting the zo7 model or whatever you want to call it with a blower on it's 427 in a couple of years, and the fact that it would allow the camaro to approach upon the cobra/gt500's figures without having to steal the ls7 from the vette. Just throwing this out there.

I really really hope GM can somehow keep the engine and engine bay looking similar to the concept too. That is by far one of the best looking engine bay's I've ever seen.

It's a showcar, of course it is gonna have a nice engine bay. A good looking engine bay to me is one that isn't covered up by a bunch of plastic, yet is still neat and orderly.

I would like to think everyone here, at LS1Tech, would buy the car. If you were on another brands site I could understand the question.
Facts are the car hasn't been built. No one knows the price, specifications, performance, or options. The car will be built, it's coming, trust me.
I don't care what engine it has provided all SS automatics run the 1/4 in 12.4, all manuals are quicker in the right hands. The car should cost the dealers 25,000. All dealers should sell the car for 30K.

Looks way too luxury for me;not enough muscle. Yet I will say I cant wait for it to come to showroom, there will be a lot of really nice C5 Z06's waiting on me that will be traded in.
