Your right, its not really supposed to be a retro "well GM claims its not a retro" but a modern camaro.

Talking Camaro wins

The Camaro is gonna be priced within $200 bones of the Mustang so price is Right On Target.

The looks are there and they say muscle car and not yuppie *** car.

The Mustang is a fantastic car but come on... wouldn't you all rather have a Camaro with an LS2? Also, the Challenger (saw it today at NAIAS) is too bloated. Looks good though. Still I would rather have the Camaro.

As to the above post:

The nose looks great on both. Personaly I do not want the same car from the 1st gen with an LS2. A new chasis and better suspension and performance with a more modern edge to it looks great IMHO.

FWIW I appreciate any 1st gen especially with the old school tires and rims and suspension. Reminds me of my first car. Everyone loves em too. But GM (or any other auto maker) is Not gonna recreate a 1st gen. At least we have the 1st gen lines incorporated in this concept. From the front and rear corner panels to the roof (though chopped looking).

Maybe I am crazy but the Camaro concept has grown on me and now having seen it I want it like I wanted to have sex for the 1st time.

Is that an Escalade or a Camaro? Is the first thing that came to mind when I first saw it. I'll take the Challenger.

In 2009, It better not Have the old T56. With these new cars coming out today, 6-7 speed automatics are going to be the norm in 09. 400HP is also going to be old news. Heck, Ganny's Infinity is going to have 375hp out of a 3.6L V6 in 09.
It's pretty, I will give i that. I will have to wait until the final hardware is in production. If it has 2005 parts, No i will not buy it. 3yrs is a long time from now. lets see what the final say is.

no, only because ill be in the army and cant afford it. but 02 camaro SS and 04 GTO will be a dime a dozen when the mustang, hemi, and camaro all drop. so ill pick up one or both of those lol

if an 02 SS in 09 costs 10k

and a 04-05 GTO cost 15-16

you can get both for the price of the new camaro

I need to see it in person, smack dab in front of me.

But its growing on me.
As of right now, the Dodge Hemi Challenger gets my vote.

I'm sorry but... not for me... I think that thing looks like someone took a '67 and then had a giant fat guy sit on it.

LS2 GTO or C5 Vette for me next, or I'll just mod the s**t out of my fourth gen. (I am also tempted by an 03/04 Cobra though...)

I'll probably consider the GTO first, but I would not rule out a Camaro... I think it looks awesome.

I agree with this guy. There's NOTHING streamlined about the new Camaro. It along with the new mustang look like a slow bulky brick.

Nothing wrong with the t56 is there? I mean its one of the strongest manuals that I know about. But your right, the auto tranny in the camaro better be a beast! I hope it isn't as weak as the one that the 4th gens have. I don't know much about them, but I read that " so ya wanna be fast " thread and it seemed to stress the fact that they were pretty weak. Not to mention a 6-7 speed auto would eliminate the semi worse gas mileage that the a4's get vs the m6...

IDK If Ive posted yet in this thread, but I love the new camaro, and drove 3 hours to chi-town to see it. Its beautiful in person as well. I see nothing that I absolutely hate about it, and very little that I would change if I could, its almost perfect.
