I think it is smart to wait a year or 2 to see how they fair.
But if you plan on keeping a camaro for the next 30 years to drive ( which many people dont ), buying a first year car isnt a bad idea. I mean, just look at the 67 Camaro. The 6 Cylinders can pull over 30K now in ALL ORIGINAL form.
I didnt think it was possible, and an Original Z28 or SS, 67-71 are just skyrocketing in value.
Of course im not a collector, their just dust in the wind, so I say, Drive'em!

The New Camaro is a mix of both retro/and new styling.
I for one think it looks sick, and I havent even seen it in life yet. But maybe hopefully soon I will.

I would like to see this thing have a solid axle and weigh in the neighborhood
of 3,400lbs. Too bad either of those wont' happen.

WHAT?

And I'd rather see there be an option of a solid axle or IRS. I'm in favor of IRS, but I know you drag junkies would rather have a solid axle as opposed to us AutoX/Road racing guys.

I can't wait, I hope The SS will make a return, maybe with a LS7!!. That would be bad ***. I'm keeping all of my F-bodies, even if I have to go into debt to get one. I'm selling the 80 camaro, its just taking up space, but I'm keeping the 99 WS6 and the 79 T/A. I can't wait to see the look on the blue oval boys' face when I come rollin up in a LS7 powered SS.

Straight from the GM High Tech article: "Two engine configurations keep popping up with the word "Camaro": the 240-horse, 3.9 liter LZ8 V-6, and the 300-horse, 5.3 liter LH6 V-8. At this point, there is no word on other optional V-8 engines, but everyone knows that GM has the firepower to dust its rivals in the Ford and DC camps with 350- to 450-horse V-8 options."

Pretty sure those photos aren't leaked. They do have the concept on display, and anyone who looks can see the IRS. Not to mention GM has declared many times that it would have IRS...

We don't know about the weight yet, unless I missed something recently. Looking at it in person, I could see it being 3400-3500 in production form.

I'm curious to see what MSRP will be along with a few other things.
I should be ready for another car by then. It would be nice to get back
into the LSx game.
First info i read was 25-31k. They are going to try to match the Mustangs price. Something the LS1 cars couldnt do. IMO they were worth the price, but the Avg. person would buy a mustang to save a few K's. I wish there were more of US in the world..Gearheads,racers,speed freaks....

i would hope they would use the solid axle, not only would it be a cost saving measure(which would hopefully keep the V8 in the mid-20s) but when will GM learn people who buy these cars GENERALLY want STRAIGHT LINE performance...

You don't beat the solid axle in the 1320...

If this car is to suceed it had BETTER be in the price range of a GT mustang, I'm sorry but people are not going to pay $35k for a coupe V8 sports car that doesn't have "vette" or "cobra" in its name, it will fall into the GTOs fate...

Those who want it can't afford it, those who can afford it don't want it...
