Does anyone have any more info as to what peoples responses were?

even if they don't leave the factory with a targa top, I'm sure it'd be a month or two before some wacko takes a sawzall to the roof and does the conversion himself

Kind of interesting topic. Weren't T-Tops originally a way to get wind and that "airy open" feel on cars when the convertible was outlawed due to safety regulations?

Default t- or targa tops for me!

t-tops were one reason I went with an f-body instead of a mustang (along with better handling and more power, of course).
I really like having some sort of glass, removable top. T or targa tops are my preference; if it's just a moonroof it better be big enough to do a ticker-tape parade with Mussolini, the Pope, and Neil Armstrong all at once.

One of my co-worker's subarus had a giant roof like that, so it can be done.

on a related topic, someone's been thinking about what the new mustang would like like with more top options:

What ever the new Camaro has, or doesn't have, it will most definitely evolve. And, I'm sure everyone will be able to have what they want. FWIW, I've had both and I like both (hardtop and t-top). And, basically, with shade plates the t-top is both.

Ttops have that sort-of mullet stigma associated with the car, this has been debated and looked over at cz28.com and the general consensus, I believe, was that ttops would be hard to do with the design of the car. A targa would be easier, but might not be feasible.

I would rather have the structure of a hard top than the ability to take the tops off once in a while.

I couldn't have said it better myself. One of my most favorite things about the Camaro is the t-top.

I doubt we'll see a t-top Camaro for the 5th Gen bodystyle, I'm not sure it would even look right. I'm sure there will be a vert though, gotta have a vert. T-Tops don't define Camaro's in my eyes, my first Camaro didn't have um, and my current does... sure I like them but they aren't something I must have. Obviously the most popular Camaro's are 67-69's, and they didn't have t-tops... so I'm sure the 5th Gen will be just fine.

at G10 scott settlmire said most likley it would not be able to have t-tops or a targa top due to the safety standards of today they have to meet he told us that most likely we may be seein a power sunroof option

t-top would just clutter the look of the roofline

there is a reason there are more t-top cars around than hardtop... people want them. i cant see how regulations prevent the use of targa or t-tops but rule makers can see it feesable to allow convertibles the death machines they are compared to the t-tops

I don't think it'll effect sales when you can't buy a Charger or Mustang with t-tops or a targa top.

If they have to add more weight to reinforce the body for a t-top or targa, then I'd say skip it, I'd rather have a 100lb lighter Camaro than t-tops.

i dont think 3500 is possible with todays cars. 3800and under is more plausible im betting that the challenger will be around 4200 and the stang just a tad lighter
