How can it not be when the TRANSFORMERS movie will be out summer of 2007???

I still bet it will be a late 2007 release as an early 2008 model...

How could they POSSIBLY release the car THREE YEARS (if it is to be a 2010 model) after this HUGE movie that GM bought the rights to and is now just a 2 hour CAMARO ad???

the car in the transformers movie is built on a mustang chassis. You may want to pick up any gm hightech perfromance from the last 3 months. 2009 begins production 2010 is the release.

That was a DUMB @ss statment a board member made because the car had a Saleen tag on it...

F-Bod Father (Scott himself) stepped in and set that ridiculous rumor to rest... The CAMARO (in the TRANSFORMERS film) sits on CAMARO underpinnings...

I still think it's coming out sooner...

i think it will be out sooner too, gm has to realize to consequences of being to late to this party. i mean how could you pass up the opportunity to release a 40th anniversary edition. they could even make more money by charging more for it(not that it would make me happy) but seriously. come on.

i'd sure like to see them come out in '07. not because i'd be able to afford one. i'd just like to see the camaros back out there taking back the ground they lost from the mustangs.

Just to throw something out there for yall to think about. If this is true, if they will be releasing the camaro in 2009, maybe the reason for this is b/c Ford is coming out with another mustang in 2009. I think it will be smart for GM to wait till 09' so it can compete with the 09' mustang. If GM comes out with the camaro in 08 or 07 ford will take that as a offering to maybe try and one up GM with the 09 mustang?

Very true but I believe that both of these cars "Challenger and camaro" will be having to compete with more the mustang than each other at first. Just my .02 cents though.

I saw the Challenger in person, and the pics don't do it justice.
That is a bad-*** looking car up close, and the engine makes it even more bad-***.

I'm not completely sold on the looks of the new Camaro yet.

I think that if the car was out at the same time as the movie it would be great for sales. All of the advertiseing for the movie could also be used for the car but i think that might to early of a release date. But i do hope it is out in 07

Where is the info that Scott stated about the transformers Camaro? I'm not doubting he said it, I have not seen the post/article about this and would like to read what he said.

The challenger will be out late next summer(07) as an 08 model. Commercials using the challenger will be out later THIS summer. Camaro should be close to the same, as it will be announced for production at or before SEMA this October. I can't imagine that at least a limited amount of Camaro's wouldn't be labeled as 07's to commemorate its 40th b-day. We'll see....

If I remember correctly, his statement was that the car for the Tranformer's movie was not based on a Mustang. He was not forethcoming with what it was based on.
