thats what i was thinking you beat me to it! lol imo one of the best hardtop verts ever made. Seriously. I used to have one. LOL funny story. I was 16 and looking for my first car and i liked them but not that much. I came across one that was a vr4 and all the options. At the time(2001) the going price was around 18-24. I asked the price and he told me 30. I almost fell over cuase it was my dads friends car lot and he said "well for you, thirty. Its listed at 36. I said "why are you asking so much are you nuts!?" and he said "well becuase its such a rare car. I asked him "whats so rare Bout it?" he said "how many hard top convertable vr4's have you seen"...........i proceeded to inspect the car. Yes....it was actually a convertable. What a surprise i honestly had no idea.Lol my dad liked it and bought it and he sold it to a collector a year later for more than we paid.

Another favorite of mine is the few converted zo6 hardtop convertables.Another very clean job. If a vert is ever an option i think it should be stabdard that its a hard top. Unless its something like a solstice but then it should come with a hard top cover. So IF gm builds a convertable, Its should be a hardtop. But i heard that zeta wont allow ttops so is rule that one out

Too bad about the T-tops, that was one of those things that made the Camaro the Camaro....

HT verts are ok, but I don't like how the trunks space get's all used up and ****.

BTW I LOVE driving convertibles. It's like "ha ha look at me!" in traffic. Being an extrovert, the convertible was god's gift to me. I also like the wonderful, utterly unobstructed view of my surroundings, and every chance I get, I jump into the car. I've got jumping into third-gen Firebirds down like white on rice! lol.

I've always wanted a Targa top. I liked my two 3rd gen cars with the ttops, but always had twisted thoughts of cutting one up to make a targa top. I got smart and sold them before chopping them up.

i love verts... i dont care for cloth roofs.... but i love verts..... so hell yea.. even if it tookup 100% of the trunk space and made the car weigh 4,000lbs... id take it.

that is, if i could afford the $50k+ pricetag they would stick on it.....

I like verts, but I would'nt want a hardtop vert. I like the looks of a well matched cloth top.

Magazine article asked Peters and he stated it would weigh to much and they aren't doing it to the camaro. Besides the cost alone doesn't make it worth it, power T-Tops are what they need. Tops that slide back into the roof like a sunroof does, those would be sick

+1 for T-tops, verts are cool, but T-tops/Targa tops own....still keep hardtops for the ones making insane power.

If I drop all that money I'm going all out for performance and weight reduction. I'll stick my head out the window if my hair is craving the wind for some reason.

i didn't like the way the top looked initially but the looks of the car grew on me, I personally agree with the statement made about having a nicely matched cloth top. Having the top down is always nice, especially on those summer night cruises or at the coast. Plus I can hear the gmmg more

The only regret I have about buying my F bod was that I got a vert instead of a hard top. I am planning on getting the new camaro and it will be a hard top for sure!!!

Hell yes, I want a hardtop convert.

Why do you think ford is rushing to make the 09 Mustang a hardtop, becuase chevy will be producing one. Look at the G6, its a hardtop. GM isn't stupid, thats the way to go on the new Camaros.

I am waiting for a convertible.

Oh, and a little triva, the convertible concept doesn't have a top.

The Lotus Exige example in the poll is kinda dumb. The general has cranked out a few Caddies that were hard top verts. When you wanna chill with the top down, you got it. When you want to race, you don't look like a terrorist with a rag on top. And nobody cuts holes in your top either. I see 0 downside to a hard top vert. I'd pay to have mine converted into one if I could.
