Default pricing question..

so lets say i want a specific camaro....

a 2009 convertible in sunset orange or hugger orange with pearl/arctic white heritage stripes and a white leather interior....... and any of the V8s.. i dont need the top of the line V8 as i know im going to be modding the engine.

key thing is the convertible and the color/interior...

does any of us have any realistic idea on price???
i know its entirely possible for a dealer to be asking $40,000 for that, but i kinda am hoping for something i can afford.... (like 30k or lower..... lol)

My fully loaded 2002 Camaro SS convertible 35th Limited Edition stickered at $39,2XX. That was in 2002. It is a safe bet this one could reach mid $40Ks by 2009. Inflation, labor costs and steel costs have risen sharply since 2005, especially since 2002. If they can keep a fully loaded boat under $40K, I'll be impressed. In 2002 they worried about keeping it cheaper than a Corvette. By 2009, the Corvettes might be $60K base...

Prices in the 40 k range is what will kill this car. I know that 4th gens were in the upper 30k range and they did not sell....raise the price more and you will sell even less. GM is hurting for a reason. A decently loaded 09 Camaro V-8 at 29,999 will sell like crack in the ghetto...price it at 39,999 and it will sell like a Yamaha at a Harley convention.

The mandate given to the team was to keep it priced within $500 of the base V8 Mustang.

I'm sure you start loading it up, it'll get expensive in a hurry.

But the good news is V8s will be available in the "affordable" range.

I hope you're right man! I don't wanna have to pay 30k for a base V8 Camaro.
