2009 Camaro performance?? weight???

2009 Camaro performance?? weight??? Why isn't anyone talking about the quarter mile times or how much the car weighs? I'm not just buying it for the looks. Anyone have any predicted data on some ET's???

Well, 13 flat won't cut it. That's almost what my 2001 Z-28 does. With a 400HP engine, you would expect faster. If we go buy pounds/HP, mine is 3300#/325HP=10.15. Now if the 2009 is 3600#/400HP=9.0, so it should be a lot faster. Word is that the 2009 will be about 3600 pounds, but will it really be 400HP? Am I missing something here? Thanks!
I hope it only weighs 3600lbs! I was thinking more like 3700. Notice I said "at least 13 flat" I'd like to see mid 12's, but it's probably not gonna happen. I'm just trying to be realistic. BTW your car actually has closer to 350hp.

Depends on how you measure the ET's.
A 2002 SS went ~13.8 per "magazine" times, same mag had the 2002 Z06 running 12.8.
Using that yardstick, a 13.0 would be rockin'.
But a hotshoe in a M6 car at a sticky track could push that same 2002 SS into the high 12's, and a 02 Z06 into the high 11's. By that yardstick, I'd expect the new Camaro to be "mid 12 capable" in stock trim.

Using that yardstick, a 13.0 would be rockin'.
But a hotshoe in a M6 car at a sticky track could push that same 2002 SS into the high 12's, and a 02 Z06 into the high 11's. By that yardstick, I'd expect the new Camaro to be "mid 12 capable" in stock trim.

Ditto. I still have an old Motor Trend saying the '02 SS runs a 13.6 and the WS/6 TA a 13.5. Anyway, I can't wait till Evan Smith gets his hands on one and takes her down the track.
