Saleen built the Bumblebee...an they said the 5th gen would get a 450hp LS3. I know this is old news but I wanna reemphasize it in this situation. Saleen is in good with GM and I am pretty sure they are a reliable source of info.

i doubt they are going to put a ls2 in there. it costs way more money to have 3 or 4 engine options for the corvette and camaro (ls2,ls3,ls7, etc) remember how the corvette and camaro always shared engines? well it's going to be the same thing, i'm willing to bet the camaro will get a low hp ls3, higher hp ls3, and later down the line a special edition engine combo, along with the v6 engine options.

The only thing anyone cares about is how much hp it has? It doesn't bother anyone where it's built? Doesn't bother anyone that it will have cousins, ie similar cars?
I'll bet it has more hp. than the previous model, not the most in Camaro history though. When was the last time anyone here contacted any political leader and asked why they are requiring Auto Makers to provide more mpg, cleaner running engines in future cars? GM hands are tied, face it!

Guys From What Scott said when i talked to him Yesterday on 8-05-2007 40th Ann F-body B-day party, he said the Camaro is going to be able to put other cars to shame in its class. This includes the Mustang GT and the Challenger even with an srt package. It will be really fast.

Scott Settlemire shut down the Saleen speculation last I read. I doubt they know anything more than us unless GM is planning to let a Saleen version Camaro come out, HUGE thumbs down in my book. Saleen=Mustang and Mustang=Enemy
5 engines would be nice but I doubt it. Too many options would leave too many Camaros sitting on lots.
Due to Emissions and all I think we'll see the 2 V6's and a V8 at first then a Vette-like domination motor later (2010ish).
Who cares about the engine! The Camaro is back and the aftermarket will better anything they put in it.

There was talk of haveing the Mustang from the Movie out with the bumblebee at the show but he was against it.

If this is true, then the Challenger is looking better and better. Personally, I can't see GM putting a Camaro out there with 362 horsepower as the top-of-the-line model. Especially when Ford makes a 500 hp Mustang and Dodge a 425 hp Challenger.

A C6 is not that fast.
from what was talked about they are not sure what the engine is going to be but the car is going to be lighter then the Mustang, and the Challenger.

LS7 is tooo expensive to be put into a ~35k car. They are currently being hand built at a cost of 13k. I hope its LS3...they make awesome power with bolt ons as proved by LG Motorsports: http://www.autoblog.com/2007/07/23/d...-ls3-corvette/. The cost to produce an LS3 will be about half of the cost of the LS7 because the block will be featured in the GMT-900's, Corvette and possibly several Zeta cars.
