It's not gonna be LS2 because it's phased out. It's not gonna be LS7 because it costs way too much to keep the car affordable.
My money is on the LS3 as the base V8 and the LS8: S/C 6.2 making 475-500bhp as the top dawg.
Think about it, a S/C car driven lightly will also get similar if not better fuel economy compared to the same CID N/A motor, agreed?
I am betting this engine will be flex fuel ready since E85 has a much higher octane rating of 100-105 (read FI friendly). It might also have Active Fuel Management and / or Direct Injection to sweeten the deal but I won't hold my breath.
Just imagine if you could get an E85 specific tune. You could advance the timing and get much more power without even turning a wrench.
