I agree. GM tell us what engine option are available at least. Everyone knew all along what the new Challenger would have.

Will there be an LS3 version, most likely?

Will there be a LS9 varrient? Possibly?

Will the G8's L76 be offered as the base V8?

What V6 models?

The only reason everyone is complaining that it's taking too long is because GM let us all see the car early on. I for one am glad that we got to see the car so early on. Nobody could complain about what they don't know about....a little patience is all we need. It will be worth the wait.

No, it is taking too damn long. That is why I am complaining. We have been loyal to GM and they should have rewarded us with something by now. That there was not a 2003 M@RO is ridiculous.

Yeah but the fact of the matter is other manufacturers are going to have their cars out firs. Regardless of the Camaro sneek peaks... GM is dropping the ball in the race. I remember when it was supposed to come out in 2007, then 2008, then 2009, now it is a 2010 model.

I know stuff takes time but how come all the other manufacturers didn't have to delay their releases?

GM doesn't owe you anything. You should be glad that they're even bringing an f-body back out. They could have not released anything, and let the spy photographers find it first. Too many impatient people around here.

Ummm... GM only exists because people buy their product over someone else's. If they want us to continue our loyalty they should appreciate it (which they our with the release of the Camaro) and also be worthy of it. We've been WAYYYYY patient with GM.

They're the ones who dropped out of the muscle car race in 2002 when it was just getting big again... They should be grateful we haven't jumped ship to Ford who has their finger on our pulse, not us be grateful because they throw us a bone EIGHT YEARS later...

I mean seriously, this car was supposed to come out in 2007 and now it is a 2010 model?!?! How much can a company continually miss the mark and still be around...

Who ever said that? GM never said that there is going to be an '07 Camaro.

I remember the original hype saying it would be released in 2007 on the 30th Anniv. of the Camaro. That was implausible and quickly became 2008. That slowly got dragged out to 2009 and now 2010...

first off, GM isnt rewarding us at all, its called business. they know that people will buy the camaro, so they are going to make it.

now, in the past, they rushed cars to market and had issues with recalls and build quality problems. MAYBE they are working it all out before releasing it this time.

as far as engines go, the challenger wasnt hard to figure out. chrysler makes 2 variants of one v8 engine. it was obvious what would go into that car. GM makes man variants of similar engines, but we can take a few guesses at engine options. 3.6L DOHC v6, L76?, LS3? maybe the hybrid 6.0L motor thats in the tahoe. who knows.

I remember GM saying from the beginning that the Camaro would come out when it's ready. I think people got this idea because of when the concept came out.

Obviously it is coming out when it's ready... BUT GM is the one who OFFICIALLY said 2008 (I will dig for the magazines that said 2007 and make sure it was a GM source).

The article I read WAY back in the day said they would be LATE 2007 models which eventually turned into 2008... and now that is pushed to 2010

Regardless, and back on topic, they are late in the game by anyone's standards... Ford's, Dodge's and even by their own original claims.

I think it stated in that article one of the main reasons why it is taking so long is because they designing it off a new architecture not a existing one. I rather wait another year for a better car in terms of quality, etc

I'm with you on this thought, but I also hope that the GM doesn't wait too long or the muscle car craze may come to an end and the new Camaro may be short-lived...

I agree, although hopefully with the new redesign of the Mustang it might kick it back up again. I'm not a fan of Mustangs, and they may not have been the catalyst, but they certainly aided in a huge part in the new muscle car craze.

We'll have to see, and worst case, if it is short lived, I'll pick one up for cheap!

1967 Camaro + 30 years = 1997 Camaro (They did build a 30th Anniversary Camaro in 1997)

They haven't built an f-body in over 5 years, and GM is still around the last time I checked. It seems that they're not going to fold up if a Camaro never comes back. Like I said earlier, too many people act as if GM owes them a new f-body.

Just be glad you're getting a new Camaro at all....they could go back to like it was in the 80's with almost everything looking the same and almost all being FWD. They even built FWD concepts of the f-bodies in the late 80's as potential replacements.
