How can people complain about the weight when actual numbers haven't even been released? Did I miss that announcement?

Mine don't leak at all. Try adjusting them.

Verts should make everyone happy. If you would rather have Ts than a vert, its because you have not had one. I am just cryin that mine is in the shop getting a face lift while the weather is so nice. I have to drive a Silverado. I would settle for T-tops at this point!

feel free to convince me otherwise, but i'm thinking this new camaro isn't really going to be a camaro.. just a retro body kit on the zeta platform... or dare i say, G8 with a body kit.

It would have been nice to see them bring back the TTops- one of my main reasons for owning a Fbody. I gave up on GM & bought a low mile GT. The new camaro is slight retro but not enough. It reminds me somewhat of a charger....too blocky. The rear can really use a spoiler of some sort. The mustangs & challengers hit the nail on the head. Gm will try to sell the V8 camaros over $30000. Also, THEY ARE LATE!

Ive only removed my t-tops once, and thats when I first bought her. I dont find the need for them. I wished there was a sunroof instead.

I have a 87 GTA and I take the t-tops off every day. The 5th gen definitely wouldnt look as good with t-tops as the 4th gen did but i dont think it would look bad. I like the open-ness of a vert but the t-tops look better IMO

i did. it is definitely not an f-body. i don't know that i want to have a car that shares a platform with a 5 door station wagon.
i'll probably buy a 5th gen vert, but it will have to really sell itself to keep me away from an equally priced used z06.

The T-tops are gone (thank God) but in its place your going to find a sunroof (why pay someone to cut a hole in your roof for the water leaks?) I hated T-tops from the first days, they weakin the structure of the f-body so much that it makes the car useless as anykind of corner carver. I betting the reason that GM killed the T-tops was cause it would have sent another vehicle through side impact testing adding more cost to the vehicle.

Mr. T invented T-Tops didn't he?

Besides the weight of the glass you lose the trunk space when you store it, right?

GM is also trying to keep the weight of the Camaro as low as possible. Strength would need to be added to frame ie body if the car were to be designed with a big *** hole in the top, right?

The same holds true for the Z06. No conv offered. Now you know why silly goose

i want a targa for mine instead of Ts. i take them out on occasion and its nice. i wouldn't want a vert. i think Ts on the 5th gen would be unique for its class.

I doubt there would be much weight difference between t-tops or a sun roof . The first Camaro's had a true hard top without the center post so you could roll down all four windows and have a clear view all around with no obstruction . Notice how all the concept cars have true hard tops but strangely enough when they hit the showroom they've morfed into 2dr sedan coupe's .
VERY UGLY !!!

T-Tops wouldn't look right on the 5th. gen. Picture a 69' Camaro going down the road w/T-Tops. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!

Actually a good area to look at is the roof or b/c-pillar design.... typically GM cars with t-tops have a beefy b-pillar (well, c-pillar) right behind the side windows for safety reasons I'm guessing. I doubt GM has the magic up their sleeve to make a 2-ton hardtop car with no b-pillar, AND have t-tops. Hell, its looking like the 5th gen is gonna have a b-pillar and a sunroof already anyways

I prefer t-tops, no offense but convertibles (4-seater) just don't look right, a roadster (2-seater), maybe... but in the end doesn't matter much, I'd rather have a C6 or keep my 4th gen... the 5th gen is gonna be way too heavy, and no t-tops = no thanks.

And for those saying that they hate t-tops, surprise! They made a hardtop F-body too, shoulda got that instead I take off my t-tops whenever I can, makes cruising way more enjoyable

and here's a 5th gen photoshopped Firebird, a little over the top but thats how the T/A people are anyway. I think it looks sweet, especially with the hatchback b-pillar I mentioned.

http://5thgen.org/forum/showpost.php?p=978&postcount=8

Most of you probably know this already but what really bothers me is that the C6 was supposed to have a hybrid targa/t-top. It would have had a one-piece removable targa top but with a permanent t-bar in the middle, that would be the best right there... but some dumb *** higher-up ***** changed it at the last moment. I know a guy with a 2002 NSX with a targa top, with the targa on, going over 80mph the top would rattle like crazy, and thats an $80,000 car.

Not to be a joykill, I love t-tops but my hopes aren't up at all anymore.
