Default very disappointed

I just read an article in which someone at GM stated that there will definitely be no t-tops for the new camaro. This disappoints me and makes me seriously reconsider even buying one in the future. How can GM deny the Camaro this classic option? T-tops have been a staple of the camaro/firebird since the 70's and a favorite of many enthusiates. For me, t-tops are part of the identity of the camaro and one of the many reasons that our cars are better than their Mustang counterpart. Even though the car looks good i cant imagine not being able to take off the tops on a sunny day like i do now.(i know there will be a vert but its not the same). I'll be fresh out of college when it's finially released and i'll probably give it another chance, and probably still fall in love since it still looks badass. But i'll always feel like there's something missing if all i can do is drop the windows or drop the whole top...

I don't think the 5th gen cars would look right with t-tops. But I do agree that it's a great option and part of what I love about my 4th gens.

i gotta agree with rpm ws6.... t-tops are bad *** - my camaro was t-topped, but they would be out of place on a 5th gen.

I don't think it would be out of place at all. Sure you think it now that they haven't released pics of one with T-tops. It's reasons like this that I know i'll keep and be very happy with my '02 SS.

Maybe Gm Thinks That It's Not A Necessity Since They Weren't On The 1st Gen. That's What Gm Is Doing; They Are Bringing Back The 67'-69' Camaro Look With The Future Curves, But They Didn't Have The T-top.

I think it has way more to do with giving the core more chassis rigity while trying to keep the weight down on the coupes. People are already crying about the weight and I am sure they felt the extra weight would hurt sales more than not offering t-tops.

Agreed, the weight factor is depressing! That is about the only issue I have with this car though. I love my T-tops but I think a fixed roof is more sporty. If they have a sunroof option I'd probably still go with the fixed roof.

I won't miss the t-tops. Of the four 4th gens in my driveway, guess which ones leak...

97 Camaro B4C (hardtop)
99 Firebird (t-top)
01 Camaro SS (t-top)

t-tops are dope, but they belong on the sleek fastback style body.

my 4th gen has t-tops and i'll probably never get rid of it because i love the ttops on it. but its not going to be a deciding factor whether i get a new dumdumdumdum or not. the challenger and mustang wont have t-top options and its not gonna make a difference to their sales. keep in mind the mustang did have a ttop option in the 80's

someone should make a chop of a 5th gen with t-tops just for shitz and giggles

T-Tops would be a great addition to the gen 5 camaro. But it would look very weird with it. I think they just want to keep it retro like the 69 camaro body.

The camaro has got to have T's...its like tradition!! Who knows maybe a year or two after it's been released somebody at GM will change their minds and design a T-top model. Ya never know.

Doesn't bother me one bit. I've taken my t-tops off no more than two times. If the new camaro is truly 'retro', it would be available in hardtop or vert.

I prefer a hardtop now. T-tops are a pain.
