When I first saw the concept it wowed me, I vowed to have one whenever/if ever they were produced. But ****, I was like 8 years old when I first saw the concept, lmao.

The look has worn on me quite a bit. It's just not as sexy as it used to be to me. The production car is terrible IMHO.

Even though I don't know what the engine options will be though, I have faith in GM in that department. You can hump Ford's leg all you want, but your Ford will always be a POS, slow *** car. Mod for mod your Ford will never be able to tangle with the 5th gen., no matter how ugly it is.

For every one ugly car GM makes Ford makes 18 body kits and 7 different SLOW options.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA LOL LOL!!!!! YES, SO TRUE!! ford equals ugly and slow. they just want sales and don't care how slow and ugly they are!!! Chevy rules ford!!!

I would never pay 50000 for the challenger. For me, the time is now, so I got a stang. If all I cared about is going fast in a straight line then of course I would be in another FBody. This time, I was looking for quality, & thats what I got.
So you traded your GTO for a Mustang?
The GTO is FAR superior in quality, inside and out, and has a far more advanced suspension in comparison to the Mustang...
You should have kept the GTO, or got an Audi, BMW, or CTS if you wanted fit and finish...

Ive been in these forums for a while (another ID) & it seems everyone hates the fact that there are many more stangs around then FBody's - that means FORD is ******* awesome.
I don't think any one hates it, its just another reason not to own one. This means that Fords MARKETING team did good, seeing that the most mustangs out there are the V6 models. And buying a V6 muscle car is like buying non-alcoholic beer, there is no point.

true that!! Fords competitive edge is affordablity not maximum bang for the buck like GM. And V6 mustangs should never count as sales against a V8

I know some say it is not a retro.... but it sure LOOKS like one.

Btw, it is also UGLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't imagine the new Camaro (properly performance optioned) costing under $30,000. How can Chevrolet make inflation stand still and sell for the same price as in 2002? Impossible unless they really cheapen it up. I hope not. The OP has some good points but I really dislike owning a car that everyone else seems to have. I also would be very disappointed in a new GT that can't beat my 7 year old totally stock '01 vert. That really is inexcusable. I've owned two Mustangs before and I don't miss either one. No WOW factor whatsover unless you could afford a special Saleen or Cobra. I already rarely see #1 or #2 conditon F-bodies just 6 years old, certainly not in volume anyway. These cars do have the WOW factor and if you don't think so you are driving in the wrong parts of town. Mustangs are well...er Mustangs. Nice but Zzzzz.....

Damn there is alot of tension in the room....... This guy has never owned any LS power car just by his oil consumption comment, he is a troll. He is a mustang lover who must make himself feel like a man by coming here to inflame the GM crowd. So just ignore his ***!

I personally like the new Mustang myself, it is a nice car. The GTO has better things about it over the Mustang. The Challenger is a very nice car (I have gotten personal with a preproduction SRT8) but hard to swallow the price tag, Dodge should be taking care of that in 2009 with the regular production. I can't compare it to the 5th Gen Camaro, cause I have not been in the real world with one. I can see some downsides to the 5th gen, but it still will be a great car that has a huge following. Which one would I choose, I will have to wait and make a real comparison.

I'm not so certain about the styling.
I'm concerned about HP, weight, handling and price mostly. I'd like to see the LSA available as an option.

However in the world of $4/gal gas, the ponycar market is going to be VERY SMALL. I don't know how many V8 ponycars from 3 different manufacturers can exist to suit everyone's tastes . . .

2) "Hate"..........thanks for shoving words in my mouth! Based of the pics Ive seen, it looks hideous! Im sure alot of people are excited because of the new factor. In time, sales will tell.

3)Pull your head out of your *** sir! Get rid of the pissed off grand am! Those must be extremely sought after considering they STILL have 15 on dealer lots!
Ok, let me just say this, I'm a big Mustang fan. We've got one now, we're probably getting another one too. They've always been pretty good lookin cars, smooth riding, well built, and they sound amazing.

And that GT500...wow that really had me droolin'...right up until my 99 SS smoked one by 4 tenths at the drag strip (both m6, both street tires, both stock weight and suspension) and that's when I realized why I like Mustangs...they're a perfect muscle car addition to cure my WIFE'S need for a sport's car because she's afraid to drive mine...I imagine that's why you went with it too...good choice bro...MUSTANGS ROCK!

If you're going to say why you hate them, put valid reasons. I'd say well, I dislike them due to the independent rear suspension, the hideous-looks, the ridiculously long time they made us wait for them to put it out, and squeaks, rattles and knocks in my first one that definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.

Now, I'm going with a Challenger when it gets off the production line, and they may have made all the same mistakes in the Dodge Challenger as Chevy made with their Camaro, but I gave them a chance and now I'm giving another company a chance to earn repeat business. I hope its worth it.

My 1st FBody (DD) didnt consume any oil. I used 5W30 valvoline. I tried switching to synthetic mobil 1 & it started consuming......so i went back to regular oil. I think its BS that Gm would send the GTO LS2 owners a letter reminding them to check their oil every fuel fill up! As a GTO owner, how does that make you feel? The base V8 camaro will be well over $30,000. I feel the only way for it to match a new GT is if it comes with 300-350 HP. For the sake of GM loyalists on here, 400HP (LS3) & under 30,000 would be outstanding. Why would they lock this thread? A forum is something that thrives on opinions--thats what this is.

But your opinion just sucks

Valvoline dino oil in an LS1?
Mobil1 synthetic causing oil consumption?
You think the new camaro needs over 300HP just to compete with a heavier car with less power? Of course its going to have over 300 HP. It'll do more than compete with your stang.... It'll destroy it over and over on a drag strip and on a road course.

Ironically the IRS will help with the squeeks/rattles and noises, as well as handling of course.
Biggest problem with the 4th gen is the stock shocks, they let the rattles get though to the cabin, instead of doing their job of stopping them. Simple fix, Koni shocks... My car is rattle free...

The base V8 Camaro will probably be around $27,000, and packing atleast 380hp...
Why in gods name would you even assume that GM would give 2009 Camaro less power than the 2002 Camaro?
Either way, the Camaro has a huge advantage over the Mustang, having IRS and tuned suspension at the n-ring. There is no doubt it will run circles around the GT, or GT500 at a track...

"Dude" Car and Driver weighed the 05 Mustang GT at 3673 pounds. Lutz has said that the 2010 Camaro will be UNDER 3600 lbs... optimistic, but thats the best, most credible source we have to go off of.

When they actually start producing the car and put in all their last minute add ins, then ill pass my personal judgement on it.

What i saw at the Texas State Fair i did not like...then again all the lights in the front end were a cardboard insert and do nothing for the car to compliment it...

Wow why haven't they banned that assclown yet...? You dislike a car that hasn't been made yet, your cool yes you are. Your 05 mustang Gt is a good car, I in now way see how it is any better than the Not yet built camaro. You had a pos Goat i'm sorry to hear about that. I have never got to drove any year goat yet. But i have drove a 05 Gt and I'm sorry that car is so overated. Its slow feels heavy, I did think it was comfy though. If you think the mustang is a better car than thats great, Why start a thread that you know nothing about to just **** people off. I'm sorry all the mustang sites suck so much *** you have to come here to talk ****.
I do agree Gm has taken to ******* long to make this damn car when in the first place they should of never stopped. You said something about being a member here for awhile with a diff user name? Where you banned?
