I'm not too sure, but if the new Camaro and soon to come revision of the Corvette help lower the price of C6's, I'd totally take a used Vette over a new Camaro. Solely because I don't like new cars.

To each his own...... but I'd hold on to that C6 or trade it for the C6 Zo6.

At the time, those were acceptable power levels for a new V8 Camaro. But your comparison is apples to oranges. Calling an upper trim level model with the base V6 engine an “LT” won’t have much (if any) effect on sales. Do you really think that someone buying a V6 Camaro is going to care if it’s called an “LT” or an “RS”? On the other hand, try releasing a brand new V8 Camaro with 240hp in today’s market and see how well that goes over. You can buy a new Camry with more horsepower.

I don't think it is nearly as retro as the challenger. The camaro looks awesome. I hope to god that we don't have 02 like sales. Let's face it the 4th gen was a rough riding, outdated car in 02 (flame away), that's why sales were down and the car was canceled. The camaro can't exist on enthusiests alone.

That's why I still love the 4th gens so much. They drive like a real muscle car, and have classic styling.

Now, I also love this upcoming 5th gen, which is why I plan to own both.

How is a 300hp base V6, a 405hp LS3 V8, and a 500hp+ LSA supercharged V8 being screwed? Isn't that what Yahoo is rumoring?

Either way, what the hell does Yahoo know.

2008 Mustangs still don't make as much power as a 1998 Camaro. Now THAT's getting screwed.

" The base LS may be powered by Chevy's 3.5-liter pushrod V-6 making about 220 bhp. The LT models would use the overhead-cam direct-injected 3.6-liter V-6 developing upward of 300 bhp, while the SS will be powered by a 6.2-liter LS3 V-8 (similar to that found in the Corvette) tuned to produce around 400–405 bhp"

Cuz you know GM will promote the 300hp V6 to sell the most. The 1 V8 option will be limited production & overpriced. Who wants to role around in a rice-sounding V6? Not most people on this site. They want a decent but not overpriced V8 that is attainable. Of course this is all speculation....lets hope so!

Listen to what you've read in the 14 threads where you display your lack of knowledge and we try to steer you straight, we can only do this for so long before we just decide you can't comprehend what we say. The V6 will carry the sales just like they do for basically every production car on the planet that is in this class. Pushing a 300hp V6 is NOT a bad thing, I don't know where you get that idea. Let's push a V6 that makes the same power as the largest competitors V8 version, that's a bad idea? The V8 will not be "limited production" were the Z28s and trans-ams limited production? Are GT mustangs limited production? I don't understand your reasoning or why you keep talking trash on what's coming how, how they will market it etc. If you don't like it, why is this your favorite forum? You are so negative about every aspect of this

Which sales do you think bring in more revenue the V8 or V6? Where does this V6=ricey sound nonsense come from. And why would GM worry about the V8, the DFI V6 is probably better than fords V8. So arent you the one who is screwed in the Slowmobile cause V6 Camaros take you? But im just speculating like everyone else. I nominate 0000000000 to change his name to buffoon for all his blasphemy and slander.

Wow you guys are sensitive. I was just painting the picture, in case yahoo is right. Have you ever heard a domestic V6 exhaust as compared to a V8 sound........there is no comparison. They all sound ricey. There is more to a car, then just simply, what it does in a straightline. It must suck to be so stubborn.

An LS3 Camaro will NOT be limited in production, nor will it come with a GT500 sticker price. You know how I know? Because nobody is going to pay $40k+ for an LS3 Camaro when an LS3 Corvette is just a couple thousand more. Nobody.

Now, I can see an LSA superchared Camaro going for $40k+ and selling. That'll likely be a 500hp+ car.

I am confident that we'll see an unlimited production, 400ish HP LS3 Camaro selling for $30-35k depending on options. This will not be a supercar that you never see at dealers or on the road. You just wait.

Yeah theres more than straight line performance there is live rear axel which is superior at sucking in the bends.
