Displacement on Demand?
this is the worst news I've heard all year, anyone with a V8 Grand Prix knows FULL well what I am talking about... Hope you guys like bolt-ons only and running nitrous with crappy tunes...
because D.O.D. engines are terrible when it comes to modding, why do you think the s/c V6 grand prixs are STILL handing it to the "much powerful" 5.3L V8s, because out of the box they are faster, but that 5.3L is never going to see 300whp(without nitrous)
and will be buying a 6-speed

because normally I keep my mouth shut(21 post in 3 years) but being a former W-body owner and being active in several mod days, I've seen first hand the frustration that is displacement on demand, great for your Tahoe, NOT for a sports car or ANY car that you want to be modded...
I know w-bodies weren't "designed" to be modded but they actually have a VERY LARGE aftermarket
mopar overcomes the DOD obstacle by offering upgraded valvetrain for cam upgrades and a tune to eliminate dod
stock LS1's dont suck at all. for an 11 year old engine it still beats the living crap out of most "modern" engines in power and economy.

my god, so many bitchers and WHINERS!!!!GM would be retarded NOT to put DOD in the auto. better mpg and no decreased driveability? I'm sure nobody would want that

like has been said, it is NOT hard to disable. most guys that mod don't mind disabling it and throwing in a different cam should be simple just like a GenIII/IV so whats the big deal anyway?

no, AFM and VVT are two seperate things.
Mast is doing motors with VVT, NOT Afm.
