I would agree, that is now sounds like its dead
I'm not giving up hope yet though. chances are it wasn't going to be the 1st model year anyway. Last edited by santino04; Jul 21, 2008 at 05:31 PM.

Maybe they'll call it an ss/sc like they did with the cobalt, but it seems like common sense that they will go with the familiar name.
Besides, most of us "knew" it wasn't coming the first year, since there have been no sightings/ramblings of it coming, so why even make this thread? I promise they won't sit by and let all of the potential buyers keep picking up the GT500s for 45k

I don't think GM will let it go unanswered.
300hp just doesn't do much for ya, but it sounds pretty good with LT headers and !cats.
it was tuned, but poorly. we actually did a TKO600 conversion in anticipation of a blower... but thats another story. damn thing never ran quite right.
Lastly, I read your first car was a 1986 Trans Am. Is there any scenario that would make it feasible, at this point or any point in the next three years, for GM to revive the Camaro's sister car, the Pontiac Firebird?
CP: "There is not work currently going on at Pontiac on a new Firebird. The G8 is kind of their car for that."
To compare a 4100 pound 4 door sedan to a Trans Am is almost grounds for a beat down.
