modding the new camaro?
How hard would a cam swap be on this car? I mean, I know nobody actually knows yet, but I would assume you would have to drop the engine??? I have no idea what it takes on a 4th gen or GTO, so maybe somebody can fill me in. I guess you would have to remove the intake, the rocker arms, and of course the front components from the engine.
To the O.P. I won't be getting one, but if I did I wouldn't do anything to void the warranty until maybe 20K miles (2.5 years or so).
I recommend the crane valve spring tool for cam swaps...it works real good and lets you do 2 at once. Not sure if they have one or if the old one will work on an ls3...but ill find out some day.
From what I have read the stock heads flow so well that swapping heads would be for someone looking for the absolute most gains possible n/a and has some extra money burning a hole in there pocket.
GMPP already has ported heads and a cam that will add significant gains.
We are feverishly working on a dealer-installed package for you folks.
