GM F-body oil pan issues FYI, I was finishing up pan installation on a 98' 5.7L when I noticed a crack in the factory pan. I purchased a new pan (GM 12598151) for the 98-02' F-body. The pan has been redesigned, and is noticeably different. PROBLEM....The oil filter adapter fitting is entirely too large (diameter), and does not fit the factory filter PF46. A couple websites show to use the PF58 delco filter, but the same issue exists. The adapter is too large. Has anyone ran across this problem?
