what makes the 98 pcm so hard to tune? im gonna end up getting a 98 but will it be a complete pain in the *** to get modded? i just wanna make sure im not gonna regret getting the car later on if i wanna do some things to it i hear there hard to flash but does that equal impossible? thanks for the help

a speed shop that specializes in LS1's should have no problem tuning your car. There are a few handhelds that tune 98's, but they're quite expensive.

The best... HP tuners works fine on 98 cars.

They're not any harder to tune. You can't do real time tuning w/ HPtuners on that year, and you can't scan as many parameters at one time, but you can still get the job done.

The only thing that really sucks is that if the PCM takes a ****, they are more expensive than the 99 & up LS1's.

It is still decent. . . 98's have a few good things about them - The PCM is not one of them.

You can still tune it, not that awfull.
