aluminum 5.3 veh. apps. does anybody know the details on what trucks got the aluminum 5.3? i understood it as the first year SSR had the alloy 5.3, then the s/t chassis, trailblazer/envoy/rainier and such got it. the other day i ran into a pewter Z71 with an aluminum 5.3. it had a "B" vin code, and the RPO said L33. wasn't the alloy motor tagged LM7 or LM4? so does that mean its flex fuel? just curious if anyone else has seen this in their travels.
