I agree with 99rebelz28. The Z06 is one bad motha! However, maybe a little optimistic on the $40-45 price tag of a 06 Z06. There have been a few with high mileage at that price. But you are looking more at $45-50 with good decent mileage. Nevertheless, if you don't mind spending that much. Go with the Z06, add a cam, long tubes and a tune and your hauling ***! Can you say 130mph traps with that setup!

Moderator Jay has suggested a 06 Z06 too, that's his #1 choice for around that 40-50 grand range and he should know reading all these posts everyday.......Honestly, I really would love that car, but unfortunately my pockets just don't go that deep... $40,000 is my total budget for Vette and all mods... That's why I am trying to figure out what the second best choice is and what mods are the most effective for no more the $40,000...

Thanks again for all of the input fellas, very helpful indeed.... It looks like I am pulling for the 06 LS2... That should leave me with about 10 grand for mods left over... In the end I should be able to make the C6 LS2 Vette rip with 10 grand worth of mods I would think?????

The LS2 is what I am planning on swapping into my Lexus SC400 any day now too... I do like that motor...
