Fixing to buy, need OPINIONS
Well, fixing to take the plunge and buy an ls car. Looking to spend around 8,000. I am trying to decide if i would be better off to buy a stock camaro or t/a and do mods myself (this way i know for sure what I have) or, would I be better off to buy a car with some mild mods?

If you are not very experienced in "automotive technology"......I would avoid the buying a car with mods route.
It will more than likely have been abused and/or modified incorrectly. Get a virgin car and go from there.

But... everyone knows T/A are better

i wouldnt hesitate to buy a bolt on car. but i would much rather mod the main things myself such as internals and rear ends and such. buying one with bolt ons saves you lots of cash! take a knowledgable friend and look it over real good.

I bought an already modded high mileage f-body and in 40,000 miles I have only been let down once. The rear end broke on me, but I was already expecting it. The car has 140,000 on it now.

Modding is fun. When I get another I'd like to have one as close to stock as possible. Figure, someone could have the car modded to the gills and have been meticulous with its care and upkeep. On the other hand, someone could have a stock car that is neglected to **** and will break if you look at it the wrong way. Buy whichever you feel more comfortable buying, don't let mods scare you, but try to get a feel for how well they took care of it...
