Who has the LEAST amount invested in their car for the amount of mods they have?
I know with a lot of people on this site, money doesn't seem to be an object and their cars show it. What I am curious about is this - Who has the least amount invested in making their car faster/better looking INCLUDING the purchase price of the car? And please, no nitrous cars because that makes it REALLY easy to go fast on a budget. List how much you have done to your car and what your total investment is. Be realistic too, don't just drop a BS number because you're trying to look cool. (I.E. include minor costs such as gaskets, tuning, etc.) *ALSO* Having a completely pre-modded car doesn't count. My car had the Suncoast hood and Hurst shifter when I got it, which saved me about 2K, but someone could buy a car with similar mods to mine for about 8K. I'm more interested in seeing ingenuity in modding.
Mine - '98 Formula M6
Engine Mods - CNC Ported Heads, TR224 Cam, 85MM TB, FAST LSX Intake, lid, LTs, True duals
Trans Mods - Stage 4 T56 from Six Speeds Inc., Hurst Billet Plus shifter
Rearend Mods - Torsen Diff, 3.90 Gears, rearend girdle
Suspension mods - Boxed control arms, adjustable panhard bar, Chris Alston tunnel mount TA, Bilstein shocks
Brake mods - Drilled / slotted rotors, Hawk brake pads
Appearance mods (inside and out) - A/R 17X9 Rebel wheels, Nitto Drag Radials, Tint, Clear corners, Suncoast WS6 hood, White faced gauges, Hurst white shift ball, Embroidered floor mats, Harlan shift light (more of a performance mod, lol)
So far I have a total of approximately $14,000 in my car and have ran a best of 12.31@117 in the 1/4. I'm adding an S60 rear and an OZ700 clutch this winter, so that'll add about $4K to my total but I should be solidly in the 11's because I won't have to granny it off the line.

Just curious but #'s did that thing put down?
That figure seems pretty fair if not low. Adding in the full costs of parts, shipping, tuning, paint; it snowballs REALLY fast.

I have less than 11k invested and should be at 500-550 at the tires.
I bought my TA for $7,750. It already had a mildly built T-56 and LS7 Clutch.
I found a used Incon Twin Turbo kit for $2500.
I put a walbro 255 in-tank pump in it for $72
The turbo kit came with a set of 60lb injectors.
I put a couple hundred dollars worth of misc stuff in it when i first got it (new plugs and wires... oxygen sensors... etc)

I have no idea how you guys are ending up with such low numbers with all the mods you have...
02 Camaro Z28 M6 (23,000 miles) - $17,500
Engine/exhaust mods (in sig) - about $2600
Brakes - $400
Suspension (Bilstein/Strano HD shocks) - $450
Rims and tires (C5 Z06 rims with General Exclaim UHP radials) - $1200
Sound system - $4000
So basically I'm totaling somewhere around $26,200. Making 360 rwhp and 375 ft lbs

Well... you basicly paid the most possible for everything you have.
You could have gotten the car for half that (im sure yours in nice... but im saying higher mileage ones are out there for way less).
You paid $3k basicly for headers and a catback... the same could be had for less than $1k

with the new wheels and all the mods in sig INCLUDING cost of the car maybe $15k. I bought the car for $10500 but it needed to be repaired(slightly rear ended) maybe $1k in parts and paint then the rest in mods. This is so far. i have another $1k for my clutch coming this spring and a TPiS Intake and T/B and blackwing(or a Vararam, havent decided)

Well that number goes up for me daily when i find more stuff that breaks. I'm done with modding, that money instead goes for fixes when stuff breaks. Forgive me if I sound a little bitter.

I paid too much for my car... other than the car itself I have 13-15k in it (I dont want to add it all up again) It sounds like a lot when you consider it's still a bolt-on only car But once I get a few little things worked out it will be a damn near bullet proof mid-low 11 sec car, and possibly the quickest stock internal six speed.
In the end... the money is worth running all over heads/cam LS1's and telling them I'm a bolt-on car
