LS powered f-bodys and vettes on pinks

There was an LS1Tech car built by Pro Stock John and some others to race on Pinks in '07 but the race never happened because the mustang forum guys backed out. I would find the build thread with all the pics but search seems to be down. Here is an article on it: http://www.fquick.com/blog/Pinks_Fil...ech_Camaro/600

there was a pinks all out episode that took place in nj with a black trans am that was running 9's on spray and 10 on motor. The car was sick. I think it had a 408 maybe a 402 i can't remember. he almst made it to the end but he forgot to turn his bottle on and lost! It was a sad day for me

If I was gonna watch one or the other, it would be the normal Pinks. All out is boring to me watching them narrow the field and take almost the entire show before it get's worth a ****.
While I think giving lengths is sorta dumb period, at least there is a little drama involved with the negotiations.

i like all out much better, my roomates dad actually made it into the final 8 at the rockingham show. it was the one where the kid was racing to pay for his moms funeral. his dad should have moved on to the final four honestly, the guy he was racing against picked up like a tenth from one run to another.

But in response to the OP, I don't think there are a lot of LS1 cars due to the fact that they are nicer, more expensive cars. On the other hand there are a million Fox body cars because they are dime a dozen and if you lose one, so what you lost a car that cost <$10k to build.

My car club and I built and raced an '89 Mustang GT with LSX power on Pinks back in '07. The car was a beast, ran bottom 9's with a fairly small shot of spray. Unfortunately, the other guys upped their spray a bit and beat us on the last race. They filmed a couple other races that day and one of them was supposed to be the LS1Tech entry, but the Mustang the other team was supposed to bring was "broke" and they wanted to substitute a much faster car in its place. I believe that PSJ had his car set up for 10.50s and didn't want to race a car that was obviously faster, not to mention it was supposed to be mod motor vs. LSX and the sub car was a traditional small block Ford. If you want to catch our race, look for the white Mustang GT racing the grey '80 Ford Thunderbird.
