Default Quick help needed: How sharp should I make the dowles to hold my lifters up?

Like the title says, I am about to go down into my garage and pull the stock cam out and slide my new MS3 in. I am using (2) 3/8'' think steel dowles to slide in to hold the lifters up. I already shortened the dowels and I just need to know just how sharp to make them? Is a slightly pointed tip fine? Does it need to be a very sharp, skinny point? Please post up, im about to go down and do it!

You need 5/16 rod the 3/8 will be too big. Also they can just be rounded.

Most of what I've seen is 5/16 but the 3/8 might clear. The rods I bought from thunder are cut straight so just rounding the tip will do fine. You may also need to grind a flat down the length of the rod.
