has anyone replaced a ignition switch

i am trying to replace my ignition switch on my car not the one that the key goes in but the switch on top of the column under the dash has anyone replaced on and what is the easiest way to get to it and replace it

no body has every replaced an ignition switch sometimes my car wont start and i figured out that the switch is going bad but its a pain to get to

Try asking in general maintenance & repairs section, might have better luck there.

Mine went out twice, the guy who fixed it ended up putting a resistor in to bypass the VATS.
