Default Header decision

I know this has been discussed over and over. But I m installing a set of LT's for a friend. She says money is no issue. So my question is which brand will fit the best? Also which o/r y pipe would work best with them, she has a LM2 catback. Thanks fellas.

You'd get more responses in the external engine section. But, my vote goes to American Racing Headers. I just got a set of their headers and they fit awesome. I don't have their y-pipe, but folks that do say that it fits perfectly.

Yes, yes it does fit perfect i also have a set of their LT's if your gonna get some be sure to get the 1-7/8 inch. prim. it will help with future mods. As far as how they fit, perfect no bumping or banging adn they bolt in place with no modification.

You will want to keep a catted system as well if you are planning on keeping the LM2 or it will be a loud raspy mother effer.

O2 extensions will come with the AR headers (they did with mine). I don't know why you'd want to drop the K member...?

lpp headers i love em! way cheaper then all the others and same quality in my opinion. i got my headers and y for 600 bucks from there website everything fit perfect. headers slid right in from the bottom! no modifications were needed! get cats if you have loudmouth or it will sound like ****

There Stainless to and for this kind of price its a steal all i have is full exhaust and a stock 98 engine with tune and i made 320 hp 342 tq to the ground with this setup.

as for the o/r y I"ll say something to her, but thats how she wants it

as for the k, I didn't know if you could get them in without dropping the k, I am a mustang guy.

should I put stage 8 bolts in, or will the originals work ok.

Stage 8's are a waste. Stockers reused are fine

I bought a set of LPP headers. Tried to put them in and they didn't fit. Driver's side rested on the motor mount. LPP told me to enlarge the bolt holes, but I chose to return them. Got ripped for a $75 restocking fee.

Then, I bought ARHs and they fit perfect.

This is probably a newb question but what kind of performance gains do you get from going from a catted Y-pipe to a Off road Y-pipe ?

With todays high flow cats the converters aren't really a performance inhibitor like they used to be.
