It is not a real RPO code, so even the cars mcnamara pontiac sold with the ws-7 sticker on the back, are not official ram air cars.

The story of the WS7 metal badges, goes back several years (maybe 2001-2002) to a member of ls1.com or here had them made, (I have one of these original ones) then several years later, somebody else is selling them.

I believe it is better to use the WS7 nameplate, than to fake your car as a WS6 when you just added a hood, and changed wheels.

I did some research on this about two years ago and it turns out when GM was going through a rough production time, a small dealership in some little town nobody had even heard of bought a bunch of ws6s and put a different badges on them to get them to sell and claimed they were a special produced car. so a handful of people bought these cars thinkin they were somethin special when really they were getting a stock ws6 with ws7 badges. It didnt last long because they got in a lot of trouble for it since then people just put the badges on because they wanna be different. Search google for it!

Nobody is gettin their panties full of sand i just wated to know what it meant, and why it was special. Not to knock anybody that has it, cause i would imagine by the pics and comments you are reppin the badges.

Im not talking about you...

And yes, I have those badges....got them from emblempros.com. If someone is thinking about getting them contact him, dont listen to anyone who says the contrary or that think it is dumb. Dumb is giving so much relevance to this issue....dumb is calling DUMBASSES whoever have them.

I always say to take this frustration to GM, after all they were responsible to invent a WS6 "performance" package and made people think it is something incredibly important, so easy to mimic for half of what they charged the original owners. At one time there were less regular TAs produced than WS6....so maybe those are really a much rarer car!

You are close. They used stock T/A's and added a package to make them look like a WS6 and badged them WS7. Why would you need to do anything if already had a WS6

Most people who do the mods themselves refer to them as a WS9.

I am curious about this also... I am guessing it is similar circumstances as the WS7/WS9.

It's just a badge. But everyone knows that badges add 10 HP each. Stickers and decals add 5 HP.

This man speaks the truth. The definition of a 'real' car depends on your personal take on the matter. No, it's not an official GM RPO code or package. But yes they were a dealer offered car just as he said above.

98snakeeater has a good explanation for it in his FS add for his old WS7.

Ok... What about this... I have a B4C cop car Camaro. It's not a Z28 or SS, but I did buy a SS spoiler and have a VFN cowl hood. Is it best to just say it's a B4C and get a weird look from someone? lol People always say, "nice SS man."

Correct. I have the WS9 RPO code and custom badge.
