As for early pay off my bank told me to only leave like $50 on the statement that way my early pay off will be less. Also just pay it off then keep putting your car payment away for mods. It will be much better that way.

Here's the way i see it. If you pay it off now, then you can use your "what used to be monthly payment" as mod money every month after that for as long as you own the car. This means after you do the H/C, then you can do something else, and then something else, etc.... Plus you save extra money cause you end up paying less interest (though you never really see it) and you have the added security of not having to worry about the repo man.

Pay the car off first. Thats what I would do, but I hate owing anyone money. PLus by paying it off now you will save some money on interest.

i have the same option but i am not paying it off for the reoson of trying to build credit. Plus you cant finace heads and cam unless you have some credit cards.

If he were to pay off the car he could make his car payments to himself, using the money to buy the heads later down the road.

I thought about this a few years ago with my audi and went the parts route. 6 months later i was laid off and almost had my car repoed and all I could think of was the 4k or so in go fast stuff that was going to walk away with my car. Personally I would pay it off and then do like some of the others here have said and pay yourself a "mod payment" every month until you save up for what you want.

I wish I had paid mine off first, instead I did all this work to it and am just now making the last payment. Had I paid it off first I wouldnt have had to worry about money when modding it and probbly would have done heads, cam and a magnacharger or at least put some trick flows instead of the PRCs.

Also with the way things are going right now its hard to say what will happen with anybodys jobs. Nobody will take your car away for not modding it but if you loose your job and slack on payments it will get taken away.Besides you already have a cam and are making nice power.

Pay it off!! It will feel better to pay it off. You can do the H/C package later when you save up.

I'm in the military so I don't have to worry about losing my job, so I use money on go fast goodies and just pay the normal payment each month.

Pay that focker off. If something happens to you or your job it will be one less thing to worry about. Plus with it paid off you'll have that extra money to buy parts for it if you want anyway.

after you pay it off it will only take a few months of saving the money you would be using for payments to get heads and intake. pay it off even though the heads are very tempting!!!

Definately pay it off. What would happen if you lost your job and couldn't pay for it. That's right you'd proabally not be able to make the payments and lose it. Now not only have you lost your car, but youv'e lost your car with an expensive head and cam combo on it. The way I see it is pay it off and you don't have to worry about that.

Forget all these guys saying to pay it off. Mod that **** now, its spring!! Honestly how high of an interest rate do you have? If it is a low interest loan, the cost of the money isn't that bad. Have fun now!

Pay it off!

I told myself I wasn't going to put a dime into my Formula 'til it was paid off - although it helped that it was December when I bought it - and I had to stay off here for a few months cause I kept seeing all these good deals. Also I am buy everything used (except converter). You get everything at 25% or more off. Makes financial sense to me. The less you owe anyone anything the better.
