I usually don't get any real noise or vibrations till 150mph + its like an on off switch too.

As for abuse, I ran a tank to near empty at a track doing 1/4 miles in less than 1hr. I think I hot lapped the car 30+ times. Lack of fuel stopped me, just having a blast, win some lose some but my car was the only one going down the 1/4 mile consecutively. That's abuse. Surprised the 10 bolt held up.

Why do you commute over 100 miles to work? Why not move closer or get a new job?

Ya the motor should be fine at those rpms. I bet my 6 speed with 3.23 gears a 120 is about 2500rpms in 6th. I know at 80mph i'm only at around 1500rpm. Your lucky you didn't pass a cop, you must have a nice radar detector.

Yeah I do the speed limit on the highway because the motor is turning hard enough with the TH350 and 4.11s

i used to travel from upstate NY to toronto on the weekend. After the border i was gone. 120-135 consistant pegging the speedo often, so suprised i never saw a cop on the road.. my *** would of been dust ..

but the moral of the story : no hiccups or vibrations reported at all in that range

Something I've always wondered about...

If you're going say 120 (or maybe even faster), and you pass a statie stopped on the side of the road, what do you do?

Stop and take your punishment, or just keep your foot in it?

I figure if he's standing still while you pass at 120, with the amount of time it'd take a Crown Vic to get up to 120 (which is probably pretty close to it's top end anyway), he'd really have a slim to none chance of actually catching up to you if you didn't let off.

Now granted they have the radio, but if you just got off at the first exit, you'd probably be okay, as long as he didn't see where you got off.

Just a thought. I've probably watched Smokey and the Bandit once too many times.

I'd never do this myself, btw, since I don't drive that fast on the highway, ever, and getting to work on time will probably never be that important to me.

i passed a pair of cops sitting in the median on my way from DFW to OU one night doing well into 3 digits alongside a chrysler crossfire. Neither cop moved. I took the next exit, parked up about a mile off a country road for about 20 min. never saw red and blue.

Do your friends drive Honda's? A buddy of mine had a Type-S that was 3200 in 6th at about 70. Annoying as hell to listen to that fart can.

Either way, I'm glad you made it through with no problems. It's a sweet story regardless; it just sounded a little close to home.

I used to regularly make a solo weekend roundtrip from Grand Forks N.D. to Eau Claire WI. in my 67 GTO. On northern MN 2 lanes I would hold the Goat at 120+ for 2+ hours and the car loved it. Nearly bought the farm once when a pickup pulled out in front of me. I guess it was a little crazy when you consider the junk bias-ply tires we used to have. At 120,000 miles I sold that car to a 16 year old kid who beat the crap out of it every day. The last time I saw that Goat it had 150,000 mi. and it was still running strong and trouble-free.

Don't have a blowout....I had one at 80 that threw me across two lanes and then off an embankment....can't imagine what would happen at 120+...and the shoulder is NOT smart guy...that's where all the crap ends up from broken down cars/etc....

The more I think about this, the more it makes me concerned for me/my wife/etc who has to change a tire on the side of the road with morons like you out there...

slow down retard.
