Default Running Open LT's

Like the title I was thinking about going out and unbolting the long tube headers. Just to drive it and see how it sounds. I know guys out there always recommend against running open headers but I'm assuming those are for stock manifolds. Just curious as to what you guys think. Do I need to watch out for something. Also does anyone have any vids of this.

Thanks

A. Raber

I burned out my front 02's.
Just do it, so that you'll learn not to do it again

It's really cool. For 2 minutes. Then it sucks and your ears hurt and ring. Like desertLS1 said, do it just to learn to never do it again.

your only allowed to run open headers when you first install your motor, or first install your headers, its not cool to unbolt them and roll around town.

You can no longer talk. 1.) becasue I don't like your screen name. It instantly makes me dislike you. 2.) Becasue you don't know the entire story. I haven't had the car to long and I didn't hear it with open headers so now I want to to see if i would also like to see what a cut out might sound like. 3.) STFU

my Z has open LTs for the moment, plan to put true dual, single chamber 40's on it......... i like the open LTs, but i live in a sub division and my neighbors dont seem to like them as well as i do, the LTs caused me to have 6 complaints called in to the state police and got me a "disturbing the peace" citation.......... if your in a rural area, i say rock on.... if you have alot of houses in close proximity to you, it may be wise to consider the possibility of trouble

bitch your not the forum mommy i'll type til my fingers bleed you worthless ******* half wit. if you want to hear your junk with open headers then go do it. dont ask people on a forum for there opinions, you wont like most answers i promise. and i have a chevy mustang becuase i think the ls1 is the best ford motor chevy ever built, they just failed to put it in a ford.
and for the record, i'm sure it will sound like any v8 with open headers, to small of lope to be cool, and not enough compression to really have a crack sound

I started mine after my LT install last year. It sounded like *** I really didnt care for it. Go ahead, drive around open headers & see how long it takes for johnnie law to pull you over.
